‘agua’ is an invitation to return. To soften. To release. To reconnect. To trust the current. At its heart, the album is a call to healing…
A return to the deepest waters within us.

Been working on this album since before I even knew I was working on an album 😅
I hope you love it.. anything else is none of my business 😌🤣 by @kaovanny

Intro to your favorite loca 😆

It’s funny how I have no problem performing in front of a sea of people just fine… But as soon as I have to do something like this I start overthinking everything 😅🙄

Bloopers on the way.. lmao already.

Song: ‘Out My Mind, Just In Time’ - @erykahbadu

Been stalling on bringing back these little acappella joints. But I have an album out now so I can be playing those games 😆

My debut ‘agua’ album is now available on Kaovanny.bandcamp.com 🌊
Or click the link in my bio.

I know I can find instrumentals for anything these days but when I’m alone, it’s mostly just me and my voice. I actually live in a lot of silence. When I need to transmute energy, I sing the song on my heart and it stimulates my vagus nerve and reduces anxiety & overthinking for me. I recorded my album with the same intention for the people who listen to it. 🩵🌊

S/O to @thehoodhealer for reminding me this song exists in one of her recent lives. by @kaovanny

You wouldn’t believe the drastic transitions I had to go through while releasing this album 🥹

POV: My last time sitting on the floor of my first apartment in DR, 1 day before my album release/concert. Rubia and I lived there for almost 5 years… We learned so much there and created a safety that was scary to leave behind. They say that’s usually the case before a big blessing.

Flowing like water to get through it.. it’s the only way 🌊

Song: ‘Love like Agua’.. I released a single on all platforms so that you can get a feel of the album.

I’ve been officially working on my ‘agua’ album for the past 5 years… Since I was 33 until now, this album wouldn’t let me sleep. It’s a blessing that I’ve lived to share this healing with you.

I’ve been…

- Free diving; literally & figuratively.
- Learning that underwater photography/videography is not as easy as I thought 😅

- Moving like an entire record label in one body.

- Hustling & healing.
- Affirming & believing.

- Learning how to breathe under water…
- Giving back to Mother Earth by restoring & preserving the life in our ocean.

- Absorbing my Abuela’s wisdom.
- Grateful for every second I have with her.

- Praying & dreaming.
- Bulldozing walls; Building new walls with the pieces.

- Growing in ways I never imagined.

- Singing & forgiving.

- Still doing dope shit with my friends.

- Taking moto conchos (moto taxi) to my gigs.
Because the hustle is sold separately…

- Living & loving.
- Practicing acceptance to make space for more peace.

- More growing. (Yes it’s the same pineapple) 😌

- Learning about the power in silence & stillness.

- Working on my communication.
- Making mistakes; turning them into wins.
- Looking at my mirrors in the eyes. 👁️

- Healing generations before & after me.
- Understanding that some things only leave your body if you dance or stretch it out.
- Bad news…. The reality is that no one will dance you like Papi.
- Good news… no one can hurt you the same way either.

- Gigging.

- Harvesting the fruits. 🍍 (still the same pineapple!)

- Swimming & breathing.

Most importantly:
I’ve been bringing my offerings to the water and returning to land with offerings that I can share with you…
🌊🧜🏽‍♀️🎙️
