reminiscing on kappa karwash last weekend 🫧🩵 here’s a few words from our philanthropy director @laur.ervin about what this day means to us!

“kappa karwash is always the best day of the year. our philanthropic focus, mental health and wellbeing, truly holds a unique and valued meaning to every member of our chapter. i think what makes karwash so special is the way we are able to express that care and commitment by lifting each other up, by dancing a lot, and reminding each other of the beauty we see in one another. it is truly the epitome of what it means to be a kappa: to show up, give your all, and love hard! for us, there is no greater privilege than finding so much joy in this event, all while championing organizations that are actively breaking down mental health and body image stigmas, lowering suicide rates among teens and young adults, and providing critical resources to anyone facing a mental health crisis. to @jedfoundation and @neda, beta tau loves you more than you know! and to all of our wonderful donors and attendees, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. you have already impacted change in beautiful ways!

with that, we want you to remember that you never have to carry the weight of the world on your own. you are valued, you are cherished, and you are never ever alone 🩵

happy #newmembermonday from our perfect @jaeleekrasnow 🩵

“My first semester at Syracuse University made me realize that I want to thrive in discomfort and continue doing things that push me to grow. Deciding to go through recruitment was one of those things, and it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made, right alongside joining Kappa.🩵🩵

From my first day of Go Greek, I knew I had found my place in Kappa. I remember talking to my now Big, Summer, about absolutely everything I could think of, and laughing the entire time. She made kappa instantly feel like home. One of the first things I noticed while talking to all the girls was how authentically themselves everyone was, and that was one of the most admirable things to me.

To my fam: Summer, I knew you were going to be my Big the second I met you. You have made my experience in Kappa and at Syracuse so much better, and I love you so much. To my GBig, Rebecca, everything you do constantly impresses me, and I’m always in awe of you. You have made my transition into the house as smooth and comfortable as possible. I owe you so much. To my twin, Caitlyn, I love you so much and cannot wait for all the years we have ahead of us. BEST FAM EVER😚😚♥️♥️

To the girls of PC ’26, you guys are my everything and my forever friends. I cannot wait to experience this year and everything that comes with it with you all. I love you all so much!!🫶🫶🩵🩵

“Dani,
I honestly don’t know how it took us so long to find each other, but I’m so grateful it finally happened. From talking too much in class to sitting around in your room while you take forever to get ready, I don’t think I laugh as hard with anyone else. I never hesitate to talk to you about anything because I already know we’re gonna agree and half the time you say it before I even get the chance. You are one of the most driven and passionate people I have ever met and somehow you make it look totally effortless. Being around that energy makes me want to show up the same way and I look up to you more than you know. Forver grateful Kappa brought us together and I’m so excited for what’s to come knowing you’ll be by my side. 2️⃣ more years let’s have a ball💞💞💕😊😊

I’m so lucky that kappa gave me a best friend for life! Before coming to college I never wanted to join a sorority but I’m so glad that I did because it gave me the coolest friend who makes me laugh, is a shoulder to lean on and will always be in my corner. I know this is a friendship that will last far beyond our kappa years <3. It’s crazy to think we probably crossed paths so many times on my floor in flint before knowing we’d be sisters 4 lifeee!! We’ve made memories that will last a LIFETIME from the first time singing the pitch perfect riff off in the flint back rooms, to the unfortunate events of the winery bus, to laughing at you every. single. time. you fall… I know CD is watching us with pride. Junior year is going to bring more crazy stories to tell together and I’m so lucky to have to by my side through it all. I’ve found a true sister in you, thank you for being there for me in the highs and lows and for letting me borrow your clothes😚💋
