This is my 30x40in. painting of @spaceykacey. I wanted to show a process picture of @art_resin which I don’t use often but adds a unique finish to the oils. This time it somehow dried in a mosaic-looking pattern, but I actually really like it.
.
Once the oils completely dry, I mix and pour epoxy resin+hardener onto the canvas with strong masking tape around the edges, then smooth it around with a flat edge and let it sit about 24 hours to dry. by @karabethart

My work from the fall semester of 2019 I wanted to elaborate on my 4x5 foot oil painting, titled ‘Radio Gaga’ which came from an assignment to recontextualize a Renaissance piece. I chose the Urbino Diptych by Piero Della Francesca circa 1470, which I have studied and saw in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy (third pic). A diptych is traditionally purposed to address the importance of two figures (in this case the Duke and Duchess of Urbino during the Italian Renaissance), so I decided to portray Freddie Mercury and Lady Gaga to symbolize the impact they have had on our world, through more than just their music. by @karabethart

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and finally decided to create this account as a page to organize & share my art
.
Painting has been my saving grace over the years - something I’ve done as a hobby, as a part of my education, and as freelance work through which I complete a variety of commissioned paintings and drawings
.
This is a set of paintings that I did in my very first studio class at UK (all assignment-based)
