I’m Kara Love, the girl behind the camera! This is my story with my passion work… I didn’t know if I would ever actualize the totality of my potential, at least not in this lifetime, yet I feel it all falling into place.

As I navigated the hardest chapter in my life, it birthed the reunion of me with my younger self. They say that eventually all roads lead back to what we loved as a child. For me, that was nightly dreams of horses and waking up to them in real life.

To say I was obsessed would be an understatement. They were the only thing in life that made me feel free, understood, empowered. They kept me honest, humble, hardworking, and grateful. Experiencing them was the closest to heaven I’ve ever been, aside from raising my kids.

I’ve had them on and off my whole life, and my love and passion for them has always prevailed, especially through the hardest times in my life. They have been an integral part of my return to wholeness, my healing.

For me, photography has always been something I’ve been passionate about as well.

Growing up, my mom was just as obsessed with documenting everything through pictures and albums, and that was passed on to me. The beginning of my photography journey started with film. However, now, the 121K pics in just my phone is a small example of how much I cherish documenting the things that invoke emotion. The birth of my daughter prompted me to get my first camera so I could do just as my mom did.

What started with photographing my children has morphed into me spending as much time as I possibly can behind the lens and in front of horses and this part of the story began at my horse ranch in TN years ago.

My love for horses and Western (cowboy) culture has lovingly placed me in my favorite space… Right in the heart of the West. It is a dream that has evolved into something greater than I ever imagined.

I am beyond blessed to be doing something I love so very much, alongside the rest of the work I do with helping people. I pursue all things I love with depth, fervency, and perseverance. This is no different.

This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever witnessed. It kept morphing in personality and changing its colors and vibrancy. It was breathtaking!! Riding out on horseback to do this shoot across the valley from the Tetons was another dream shoot come true!! I do appreciate when God decides to show off!!

@diamondcrossranch was founded with values, connection, family, hard work, opportunity, and legacy at the forefront, and as its foundation.

It is an honor to be back for another DCR Photo Camp hosted by @brycethompson and @wrangler

The West has a way of captivating its visitors. I most definitely leave a little sliver of my soul every time I’m here.
