🩡 COMFORTABLE IN HER OWN SKIN πŸ’› A little throwback to an art journal page I created some time ago. Layers of turquoise, yellow and black, with stamping, mark making and a simple silhouette β€” all coming together around a message that still resonates with me. ✨ β€œI am obsessed with becoming a woman comfortable in her own skin.” One of the things I love about art journaling is that our pages can reflect different moments in our lives. And sometimes, looking back at older artwork reminds us just how far we've come. 🎨 Art journaling isn't about perfection. It's about expression, exploration and finding your own creative voice. πŸ’¬ Do you ever look back at something you've created and see it differently? #KaraMitchellArt #MixedMediaJournaling #ArtJournaling #CreativeExpression #MixedMediaArt #KarasArtClub by @karamitchellart
🩡 TRANQUILITY 🩡 There's something about turquoise that brings a sense of calm. Tranquility is one of my original mixed media paintings, combining flowing fabric, layered textures and soft shades of turquoise and blue. I love exploring how texture can transform a canvas, giving it movement, depth and a completely different dimension. This piece was part of my solo exhibition, Unleashed Emotions, at Jardin Olhao in Agadir, Morocco. Sometimes art doesn't need to shout. Sometimes it can simply invite us to slow down and look a little closer. πŸ’¬ What feeling does this piece bring to you? #KaraMitchellArt #OriginalArtwork #MixedMediaPainting #TexturedArt #AbstractArt #ContemporaryArt #KarasArtClub by @karamitchellart
🎨✨ A LOOK BACK AT UNLEASHED EMOTIONS ✨🎨 September 2026 was a very special chapter in my artistic journey. My first solo exhibition in Morocco, Unleashed Emotions, took place at Jardin Olhao in Agadir. Seeing my artwork displayed across the gallery was an incredible experience, but one of the things I enjoyed most was meeting visitors, talking about my creative process and hearing how different pieces connected with different people. From expressive abstracts to colourful mixed media creations, this exhibition brought together so many different sides of my artistic practice. I'm grateful to everyone who visited, supported and shared the experience with me, and to Basma Association for their support. Art isn't just about what we create. It's also about the connections we make along the way. ❀️ πŸ’¬ Have you ever visited an exhibition and found yourself drawn to a particular piece of artwork? #KaraMitchellArt #UnleashedEmotions #ArtExhibition #ContemporaryArt #MoroccoArt Agadir MixedMediaArt KarasArtClub by @karamitchellart

πŸŽ¨πŸ’• EMBRACE THE JOURNEY πŸ’• A little peek inside my art journal! This page is all about embracing the journey, wherever it takes us. Layers of colour, collage, flowers, mark making and a beautiful face brought together in my own mixed media style. One of the things I love most about art journaling is the freedom to experiment. No rules, no expectations, just creating and seeing where the page takes me. And sometimes, the words we add to a page are just as important as the artwork itself. ✨ The journey is the destination. πŸ’¬ Do you start your journal pages with a plan, or just see where your creativity takes you? πŸ’šπŸ’› HEALING GROUND πŸ’›πŸ’š Layers of colour, texture and movement. Healing Ground is one of my original abstract paintings, created through an intuitive process of exploring colour, emotion and texture. I love how the raised surfaces catch the light, creating shadows and revealing something different depending on where you stand. This piece was part of my solo exhibition, Unleashed Emotions, in Agadir, Morocco. For me, abstract art isn't about telling someone what to see. It's about giving them the freedom to find their own meaning. πŸ’š What feelings or thoughts does this piece bring up for you? 🎨 Happy National Art Day! 🎨 Art is so much more than paint on a canvas. It's freedom. It's expression. It's making a mess, breaking the rules, experimenting and discovering something unexpected along the way. For me, art has opened doors, created friendships, taken me on incredible adventures and given me a way to express things that words sometimes can't. From abstract paintings and whimsical characters to art journaling, collage, exhibitions and workshops, every part of my creative journey has brought something special. And the best thing about art? There are no rules about who gets to be creative. You don't have to be an artist. You don't have to get it right. You just have to give yourself permission to create. So today, pick up a pencil, splash some paint, tear up some paper or simply enjoy something beautiful. πŸ’— What does art mean to you? Happy creating!
