So overwhelmed and proud to announce that I’m part of @louisvuitton SS22 campaign. History in Making As a child I always wondered if a Sikh would be represented in a mainstream fashion brand. And today here I am, breaking though and making history which we never thought could have been done. I have been on this journey for over 8 years. Year after year there were so many rejections but I always waited for that one yes that could change everything. Thank you for all the support everyone has given me and been part of this journey. A new beginning to something much greater and I thank everyone who has been pushing me and supporting me throughout. A F S O S Look 4: Depression I experienced this stage of the cycle as a weight I was dragging along for months. Like a pool of thoughts I was shackled to. I expressed this through the extensive use of godet's in these trousers, made from a sheer, light weight silk. I then had them hand beaded with custom designed motifs to amplify the weight dragging along, and paired them with a fine tailored top made of a fine worsted wool. When in doubt, wear black. A F S O S Look 1: Shock For the first look of my graduate collection I began with the inital stage of grief; Shock. This came to me as a wave through my nerves and a weight on my shoulders. I expressed this by re - creating the silhouette of the salwar, a traditional Punjabi silhouette, into sleeves on the cropped blazer and enhancing the volume using taffetta interlinings alongside a worsted wool ( fine wool ). The trousers are also made using a fine worsted wool and using a similar technique of traditional Punjabi pattern cutting for a refined, contemporary take on the salwar.
