In the pamir mountains of Tajikistan, the village of Alichur sits at 3880 metres which makes it one of the highest, coldest, most resilient and remote village in the world (seriously).
Walking through I got called into the school and shown around as they were repainting the volley ball court. The next day I went to a house selling lunch for the truck drivers coming from china, I managed to hitch a ride with Jahonem to the next village. What was ment to be a 2 hr drive took 7 hours in the truck because of how bad the roads are. by @karart0

I stayed with Akim and his lovely family that were so inviting I ended up staying for a week in the village of Tuggoz in the Wahkan valley. These are photos of them and other villagers harvesting their wheat. Yes the last one is me by @karart0

5 days walking through the Alay mountains in the south of Kyrgyzstan. Walking past summer camps of family’s from villages close by looking for higher pastures for their livestock and to prevent overgrazing of the lowlands. Got called over one cold day for some chai and ended up playing noughts and crosses for hours with the children of the family. by @karart0

I was Walking through a village in the Wahkan one afternoon when this women called out and invited me in. She picked me apricots from a tree, baked some bread and made a pot of tea. She was all by her self and through google translate i asked what she enjoys the most about living here, she showed me that it was to dance. by @karart0

I just got back from Tajikistan with 12 rolls of film I shot, I still need to go through them a lot and sort out what to do with them, possibly make a book documenting the people and places I came across, so stayed tuned.

For now tho I will share this photo I took of a man I met in a hot spring in the Wahkan valley. He was telling me about his tattoo that he got fighting for the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the war. We sat in the warmth of a hot spring over looking the mountains he use to fight in. by @karart0
