UNPOPULAR OPINION:
Took a hiatus from the gym after i asked God to search my heart. i asked Him to show me what the enemy would use as my downfall. You are only as free as you are HONEST and this prayer took me looking in the mirror and being honest with myself with what He’d showed me. God showed me that i used the gym for self-validation, used the gym and the looks for false humility, and to satisfy myself rather than looking to God for validation. it rocked me completely. Thanks to my all-or-nothingness personality I quit the gym which was my only outlet for my stress and problems. He then became my only outlet. God showed me what modesty looks like and why it’s honorable to cover up. There’s a power in covering up knowing you don’t need to show it off. If you carried a gun would you constantly need to show it to everyone? that’d be weird. everything i had been taught, everything the world preaches was a lie. Last week was the first time in a while i chose to go to the gym and had a completely different perspective. only Jesus can heal the empty parts of your soul; everything else is a bandaid!

relationship vs religion
i know Him, religion reads about him
i meet with Him, religion saves holidays and events for him
i talk to Him and he talks back, religion misses him when he’s right in front of them
i surrender my plans for His, religion sets plans and slaps his name on it

there’s a difference

I’ve always been the person with the 1 year plan, 5 year goals, and really going after my wants and desires. Until all my plans failed and I realized Gods plan was way better. I consecrated my desires and plans to Him and it’s been 100000x better than what I could’ve done. He created you, He knows you better than you know yourself. So ask Him, what is His plan? and what if it’s actually better than yours?

In 2022 I was freshly saved and went to a concert, I was raising my hands and i heard so clearly, “that’s what you do at church” i immediately put my hand down. I watched on stage as the artist was soaking in the praise of the people. It creeped me out. The Lord started opening my eyes to the corruption of the music industry and how it is counterfeit worship at these festivals. Due to my all or nothing personality I gave up all concerts and secular music. I only listened to Christian hip hop, until 2024 i started finding other christian music genres and other artists were being saved. I read the book The Seven Mountain Prophecy by Johnny Enlow. It opened my eyes even more to how culture is influenced and how God wants to bring purity and holiness to the mountain of celebration! You don’t have to compromise living a Holy life to have fun!

serving at christian festivals will always be close to my heart because it’s God redeeming my ex festival lifestyle in a Holy way!
