Two years ago today, Gin became mine.
My crazy chestnut Thoroughbred who keeps me on my toes all the time.
At 10 years old, he still acts wild and free,
But somehow I know he was meant for me.

Through the hard days and all the fights,
The early mornings and late night rides,
I never stopped loving him, not even once,
Because deep down, he’s always been the one.

He’s stubborn, funny, chaotic too,
But he’s become the horse I always run to.
Somewhere along these past two years,
Through all the laughs and all the tears,
Gin officially became my heart horse — my best friend,

A month ago in @uppervillehorseshow, @kare2jump and Rebel’s Gin had one of those days that you don’t see coming. She walked into her 2’11” A Jump Above class and absolutely smoked it. 🔥

Gin apparently had somewhere to be, and that somewhere was straight to FIRST! Out of a crap ton of riders (I honestly lost count 😂), this pair put down the ride to beat and brought home the blue.

It was a gorgeous day to be out there, surrounded by her teammates and @dede.eq, who also had an incredible day with plenty of 1st and 2nd place finishes of their own. So proud of all of them and the hard work they put in every time they step into the ring.

I truly had one of the best weekends I’ve ever had in my life this week! Having @dede.eq and @thelovely_shannon come with me on our annual beach vacation for my dad’s birthday was something I will never forget. This was my first time bringing my friends to the beach, and it definitely won’t be the last time. I’m so grateful to my parents (@mama2kinsey) for letting me brings these two girls. If you don’t know me, I keep my group of girls really small, so the fact that these girls said yes to coming with me, means a lot to me. Sometimes you have a weekend that reminds you just how lucky you are. This was one of those weekends. ❤️

Getting to spend Labor Day weekend at the beach with @kare2jump, @dede.eq, and @thelovely_shannon was honestly such a joy. I found myself sitting back and listening to their stories, their laughter, their ridiculous conversations, and the way they encouraged each other. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I caught myself thinking, these are the moments I’m going to miss someday.

There’s something pretty special about watching your daughter grow into the person she’s becoming, and even more special when you get to see her surrounded by friends who make her laugh, support her, and genuinely enjoy being together. As a mom, you hope your kids find people who bring out the best in them. Watching these three together made me feel pretty proud.

And let me tell you, these girls are FUNNY. 😂 The kind of funny where you’re laughing at conversations you probably weren’t supposed to be listening to. They were such a delight to have around, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better trio to spend the weekend with.

And then there was poor Amgad… the lone male on a birthday weekend (his) full of teenage girls. 😂 Every now and then, when I thought he wasn’t listening, I’d look over and catch him smirking. Oh, he was listening. Every. Single. Word. 😂

This weekend was full of the things that matter most: laughter, friendship, encouragement, and memories we’ll talk about long after the beach sand is gone.

I’m so grateful I got to be there for it. And I’m even more grateful that Kinsey has these girls in her life.

Happy 16th Birthday, Kinsey @kare2jump

Sixteen is one of those birthdays that feels like the beginning of something new. You’ll have more freedom, more opportunities, and yes, more responsibility. My wish for you isn’t that life becomes easy, it’s that you continue to become the kind of person who can handle whatever life puts in front of you.

I’ve watched you work hard in school, dedicate yourself to your horses, stand back up after setbacks, and keep moving forward even when things didn’t go as planned. Those moments have shaped your character far more than any trophy, grade, or accomplishment ever could.

As you step into this next chapter, remember a few things:

Be kind, especially when no one is watching. Your character is defined by how you treat people who can do nothing for you.

Don’t let fear make your decisions. Some of life’s greatest opportunities begin with taking a chance.

Failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s part of getting there. Every mistake teaches something if you’re willing to learn from it.

Protect your integrity. Your reputation is built over years but can be damaged in moments. Be someone whose word means something.

Keep your curiosity. Whether your path leads you to science, forensics, horses, or somewhere you haven’t even imagined yet, never stop learning.

Choose friends who celebrate your successes, challenge you to be better, and are there when life gets hard. Be that kind of friend in return.

And finally, know that you never have to earn our love. We will celebrate your victories, help you through your failures, and always be in your corner. No matter how old you get, you’ll always have a home, people who believe in you, and parents who are proud of the young woman you’re becoming.

The world needs more people with determination, compassion, and courage. Keep being exactly that.

Happy 16th Birthday. Drive safely, dream boldly, laugh often, and never forget how deeply you are loved. This is 16…

South of France (Nice and Cannes) - Such a beautiful place to visit. The view from our Air BnB was drop dead gorgeous. I would 100% come again because it was so much fun.
