When was the last time you tried something new just for the fun of it? I’ve been reminding myself lately about the moto that once started my project @inmer.siva - “I dare you to fail”. Being afraid of the rookie frustration and embarrassment is one thing, yet sometimes being a bit more experienced/exposed and being regarded as “good” in your craft can also raise the bar “too high” for you and then failing or trying something new can seem like a “big risk” of your reputation (??? I know). I’d now say that the biggest risk is actually keeping yourself too safe from failing because the biggest breakthroughs come from the discomfort of putting yourself outside of the box - and to me real success is about self improvement at enjoying life, not at pretending I’m masterful at something. So if you’re stuck in a perfectionist rut, I feel you and I hope that you can inject a “just start” spark and “have fun” feeling to the next thing you do. If you need some very insightful tips or 1:1 to transform some of the emotional patters that keep you there send me a DM, I’m looking to connect in an authentic way to share what has actually worked for me. Before borders, there was sound. 🜂 This is the Phrygian Mode (a music scale named in Greece but born back in time in the Middle East. The current mode was blended with North African and Iberian traditions in the Al-Andalus period). It has watched empires rise and fall, it has crossed deserts, caves, and oceans. It wept in Arab palaces, burned in flamenco cries, and sailed hidden in memory. 🏺🌊 When two creatives meet there is a clash of cultures and also a resonance of an unspoken language both speak. Kareli grew up in Spain and much of her singing is inspired by those roots. I grew up in México but have some long lost roots of a middle eastern relative.
