Orange and Black are the new colors @colorhueschallenge. Tracey’s pick is perfect for Halloween and that’s just where I went for it. I started with Spellbinder’s Color Block Accent Arches and Essential Arches in the challenge colors. Most of the images are from #thgreetery’s Market Place Eerie Avenue with a couple of ghosts Spellbinders Halloween City Holiday Decorations. All the details are on my blog. Check out the #colorhueschallenge blog for inspiration and we would love to see you fill up the gallery at #colorhueschallenge! #colorhueschallenge#cardmaking cardsofinstagram handmadecards by @karen514

I was on the @memorybox.co blog yesterday. There’s a wonderful candle and candle holder in the Christmas Charm release. I made a card with both the candles & the holder earlier, but wanted to use just the candles for an arrangement that was inspired by table arrangements I’ve had in the past for our holiday table. I die cut two candles, assembled them and added them to the Heritage Rectangle Frame. The Evergreen Holly Bundle and some red berries from The Pine Berry Branch were arranged around the candles. The Merry Christmas Round Black Foiled Tabs was just perfect as the sentiment. You can find all the details on the #memoryboxco blog. #christmascards

Another card using the fabulous Capsule Basic suite from @thegreetery. I made this awhile ago, but didn’t post it until my friend received it. This card uses two add-ons to the Capsule Basics: the Party Scene die and the Capsule Star Studded Border die. Love them both! The sentiment is from #thegreetery Laid Back Basic Sentiments. A few #piinkfreshstudio Dew Drops finished it off. #birthdaycards #cardsofinstagram #handmadecards by @karen514

I fell in love with the Gilded Glass dies and stamp from @concordandninth and made two birthday cards with it. I have enough colors die cut and saved to put together several more. Both cards went to good friends—one in August and the second one last week. Everything on both cards comes from the Gilded Glass die and stamp. #concordandninth #birthdaycard #cardsofinstagram #handmadecards by @karen514

I always make Halloween cards for my five grandchildren and usually make at least three duplicates. This year I purchase the Halloween City Holiday Decorations from #spellbinders and the Market Place Eerie Avenue dies from #thegreetery. Both sets were designed to use with larger suites of dies, but I knew I could use just the small dies for a group of Halloween cards. I posted my first one for the @justusgirls challenge: Halloween dies. This one uses just the Greetery dies as well as the Simple Autumn Sentiments for the greeting. #halloweencards #cardsofinstagram #handmadecards by @karen514

My sister-in-law’s birthday was yesterday, and I used the new-to-me Layered Lotus dies from @concordandninth. It makes an elegant CAS card. The sentiment is from @thegreetery. I didn’t do a good job of capturing the gold frame or the narrow gold outlining the middle panel, but it’s lovely. #birthdaycard #cardsofinstagram #handmadecards by @karen514

Stef is the hostess of the new @colorhueschallenge. She chose lovely autumn colors: Amber and Burnt Red. I immediately thought of The Greetery’s Magnolia Wreath, and used Distress Oxides to color them. I started out planning for a CAS card, but you can see that this card got away from me. I ended up being fine with it. All the supplies are from #thgreetery, and the details are on my blog. Here’s the birthday card I made for my oldest granddaughter this month. I bought the #spellbinder dies because I loved the Super Woman’s long black hair. My granddaughter’s even longer! The background is an old favorite from Reverse Confetti. #birthdaycard #cardsofinstagram #handmadecards by @karen514

We’ve been home a week now, and finally, I’m posting about Progue, our last stop. I’ve long heard it is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe, and it is indeed, lovely. It was, however, more crowded than any of our other stops which did detract from our ability to enjoy it. Nonetheless by the time we left, I developed a fondness for it. We started with a tour of Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral and the castle grounds. We walked down the hill so we could cross the famous Charles Bridge, lined with statures of saints and other figures.

With another wonderful local guide, we took a walking tour of Old Town and visited the Jewish Quarter. Unexpectedly, St. James Church was open and someone was playing the organ—one of the largest in Europe. What a treat! We also visited the Astronomical Clock which is gorgeous and so much fun to watch as characters peek out of the window.

One of the most moving Holocaust memorials was inside one of the three synagogues we visited. The names of the Czech Jew who were murdered by the Nazis were written in small print and covered wall after wall—floor to ceiling. It’s simply overwhelming. We also visited the Old Jewish Cemetery. It’s a jumble of gravestone leaning in every direction, since there was no way to expand the cemetery they just added layer onto layer. The last photo is of the beautiful interior of the Spanish Synagogue. #travel #prague by @karen514
