There are some experiences in life that make you stop and think
“I can’t believe I’m actually doing this!”

A hot-air balloon safari over Tanzania is definitely one of them!

Rising before the sun, watching the balloon slowly come to life in the darkness, and then gently lifting above the African landscape as the first morning light stretches across the horizon is absolutely magical.

From above, safari takes on an entirely different perspective - endless plains, winding rivers, herds of animals moving below, safari vehicles that suddenly look impossibly small - and that incredible feeling of quietly floating above one of the wildest and most beautiful places on Earth!

These photos are from our past two Tanzania safaris and looking through them has me dreaming about doing it all over again - I can’t wait!!

On our two previous hot air balloon safaris we flew above the Central Serengeti and then the Northern Serengeti and this next time on our January 19–31, 2027 Tanzania Safari, we’ll have the opportunity to experience a hot-air balloon safari in the Ndutu/Southern Serengeti region during calving season - which is going to be incredible!

Imagine seeing those vast plains and potentially thousands of migrating wildebeest from the sky.

The balloon safari is optional but if you’ve ever dreamed about floating over Africa at sunrise this might just be the time to say YES to the adventure of a lifetime!

We have only 3 spaces left so don’t hesitate if this is calling to you!

We call it a “luxury safari” but let’s talk about what that really means

The luxury is where we land at the end of the day—gorgeous lodges, beautiful rooms, delicious meals, wonderful service and perhaps a glass of wine overlooking the African landscape.

But the safari days themselves?

They’re an adventure - involving
early mornings, long game drives, dusty roads, patience, waiting, watching and understanding that nature operates on its own schedule - not ours.

That’s the magic of being on safari.

You earn the beautiful lodge at the end of the day - and believe me, that shower, wonderful dinner and comfortable bed feel extra luxurious after a day in the African bush!

Our Grace in Nature Safari offers luxury accommodations AND true adventure!

Want to experience it for yourself?

We have just 4 spaces left for our next Safari in Tanzania and we would love to have you along!

We’re going back to Tanzania and YOU are invited!

January 19-31, 2027

Registration is now officially OPEN on our website: www.graceinnaturetravel.com

January is a fantastic time of year to be in Tanzania because it’s the SEASON of NEW LIFE and one of the most extraordinary chapters of The Great Migration!

This is calving season when
thousands upon thousands of migrating wildebeest gather on the plains of Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti and enormous numbers of babies are being born!

Our journey will take us through Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti, the Central Serengeti and the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.

We’ll stay in gorgeous lodges and luxury tented accommodations, enjoy wonderful meals, experience incredible game drives with exceptional Tanzanian guides, spend a day connecting with local culture and community, and even have the option of experiencing the Serengeti from above on a hot-air balloon safari!

Our journey is similar to our recent experience - just a month ago (you may have been following our Safari on social media;) - with the difference being that in January we don’t need to travel all the way into the Northern Serengeti as all of the action is happening closer in the Southern and Central Serengeti allowing us a bit more downtime between game drives so we can enjoy our incredible accommodations too!

Another advantage of going in January is that the cost is significantly less than in the peak season of August. This safari is actually $4,100 less than our recent safari!

Our January Safari is limited to just 8 participants so don’t hesitate!

We understand that this journey is just 5 months away but don’t worry - we will absolutely get you prepared! We provide all the information you’ll need to feel confident and comfortable and we will also assist you in attaining your Visa and in figuring out flights if necessary.

This is absolutely the experience of a lifetime - we promise that!

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out! We are here to help every step of the way!

Since returning from Tanzania, many people have asked, “What was your favorite National Park?” There is no answer!

On our 14-day safari, we traveled through several of Tanzania’s most extraordinary wildlife areas and they were all uniquely incredible!

The TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK is famous for its enormous elephant population and ancient baobab trees and thelandscape feels wild and rugged.
We spent two nights here (staying in luxury treehouses!), enjoyed several game drives including a night safari which was so exciting!

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK was more lush, with groundwater forests, wetlands, open grasslands and the beautiful lake itself.
It’s well known for its birdlife, baboons, elephants and its famous tree-climbing lions (which we were lucky enough to see!).

There is simply nothing quite like being in the endless plains of The SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK and being able to see into the horizon in every direction! On this trip, we experienced both the Northern and Central Serengeti, and they felt surprisingly different.

In the north, our focus was on the Mara River, where patience became part of the adventure as we waited to see whether thousands of wildebeest would make the decision to cross (and they did!)

In the Central Serengeti, wildlife seemed to be everywhere, cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, hyenas and so much more! Some of our closest and most memorable animal encounters happened here.
The Serengeti is vast, raw, unpredictable and incredibly humbling.

Technically, the NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA isn’t a National Park - it’s a protected area within the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, and descending more than 2,000 feet to the crater floor.
Within this compact ecosystem lives an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and rhinos.

The best thing about a safari in Tanzania is that you don’t simply go on one safari - every few days the landscape changes, the wildlife changes, the experience changes—and just when you think you’ve seen something that can’t possibly be topped you are surprised again!

I’ve been home from Tanzania for just a few days, and still processing everything we experienced during our 14-day safari.

My body may be here in NY but my heart is still in Tanzania for sure!

That’s why I’m already planning our next @graceinnaturetravel safari! I don’t have the exact dates nailed down yet but it will be sometime in January/February 2027.

If a Safari is something that’s been on your bucket list please join me! Maybe 2027 is your “someday”! 😉

A safari is difficult to describe until you’ve experienced one and as incredible as the photos are, they just don’t capture the awesomeness of it all.

Yes, we see extraordinary wildlife but a Grace in Nature safari has never been only about the animals.

It’s about wonder. Connection. Adventure. Perspective. And remembering what it feels like to be completely present. It is truly a life changing experience!

We partner with the BEST safari company in Tanzania @lionking_adventures - ensuring your safety, comfort and the most experienced, knowledgeable and professional guides. You’ll be in the best of hands - that’s a promise!

If you’ve been watching our journey and thinking, “I want to do that someday,” I hope you’ll seriously consider joining us in 2027.

I’m working on the details now and will be announcing dates soon.

If you think you might be interested, send me a message so I can make sure you’re among the first to receive the information when it’s ready.

Because sometimes “someday” just needs a date. ❀

(Our next Safari will be limited to a group of 10 participants so let me know if you may be interested!)

I’m sitting in the Amsterdam Airport right now, waiting for my flight back to New York, with some time to reflect on the past 16 days in Tanzania.

We call our Safari a “luxury safari” because of the incredible accommodations we stay in throughout our journey (there were 9 this time - and all fabulous!).

But, make no mistake, a Safari is still an adventure and is not for the feint of heart. It requires stamina, flexibility and patience.

There are early mornings, long days in Safari vehicles, miles of bumpy, dusty roads and hours spent watching and waiting.

We waited to see what might emerge from the grass, for predators to make their move and for the thousands of wildebeest on the banks of Mara River to decide THIS is the moment they will cross! (We were witness to 4 crossings!)

On this Safari we saw it ALL!
We witnessed the beauty and the brutality of nature. We saw the Big 5 and more animals than I could possibly list. We watched the drama of the Great Migration unfold before us and experienced those breathtaking moments when you realize you are witnessing something that has been happening on these plains for thousands of years.

And we did it all with the MOST incredible, experienced guides, whose knowledge, instincts, patience and respect for the animals made this journey what it was. Our guides not only ensured we had the best chance of seeing as many animals as possible but they also cared for us and kept us safe every step of the way.

But as I sit here reflecting, I realize that some of my favorite memories aren’t only about what we saw - it’s about the moments we shared as a group. We shared a very early morning hot air balloon Safari, laughing as we bounced down bumpy roads, standing together in awe as we watched nature unfold from our vehicles, we cried over the enormity of the Serengeti, we shared meals and stories and we celebrated life!

Travel is about connection - to a place, people, nature and ourselves and a Tanzanian Safari provides it all!

I’m exhausted but my heart is full! I’m grateful for the experience, our guides and all those who trusted in me to bring them on this life-changing journey.

Until next time! ❀đŸ‡č🇿 taken in Tanzania, Africa by @karenscore
