POSTS STORIES REELS

October was a whirlwind.

From the buzz of Mumbai to the grandeur of Delhi, the colours of Jaipur, the energy of New York and the heart of watchmaking in Geneva, we spent the month on the move, bringing you closer to the world of horology. We covered multiple events, met the people shaping the industry, and featured some of the most exciting brands in watchmaking. Every city, every conversation and every timepiece reminded us why we do what we do.

This carousel is our October in a nutshell: a roundup of the moments, the stories and the watches that defined the month. But more than that, it’s a reflection of what The Hour Markers stands for, the voice of India in the global world of watches.

Swipe through to relive it all with us. ➡️

Here’s to more cities, more stories and more time well spent. Thank you for being part of the journey. November, we’re ready.

Ever wondered what’s actually happening beneath the dial? Or why one finish looks completely different from another? And if you’re new to watches, where do you even begin?

I’ve been asked these questions so many times, and that’s exactly why I’m so proud of this one. Through The Hour Markers’ partnership with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), we brought the FHH Academy’s Watch Essentials course to Mumbai on 24–25 September. It was the course’s first time in India.

No prior knowledge needed, just curiosity. FHH Master Trainer Gianfranco Ritschel took everyone through mechanical movements, materials and finishes, the watch industry, and the culture and history of horology. Watching people go from “I just like watches” to really understanding them was the best part for me.

And this is only the beginning. We have many more sessions like this coming up. Would you be interested in joining one? 👇

Kapoor Watch Company has unveiled its reimagined South Extension flagship in Delhi, and it is a handsome addition to the city’s retail landscape.

The space is thoughtfully conceived, with a dedicated area for events, a refined lounge, and a roster of maisons spanning Rado, Bulgari and Rolex, among many others. The emphasis - client experience and service, which signals where luxury retail is heading.

It is also further proof that India is raising the bar. The retail infrastructure taking shape, and the commitment Indian retailers are bringing to it, is exceptional.

Here’s to many more milestones. Congratulations to Kapoor Watch Company and the entire Kapoor family!

My 7 independents to watch right now.

Price and availability don’t matter here. I look at three things: a dial that stops me, finishing that holds up under a loupe, and a watchmaker with a story worth backing. The shift is clear. As more of the world becomes automated, collectors are paying for the human hand. With independents, rarity isn’t a side effect. It’s the whole point.

07 MB&F, always last and always special. It’s where it all started for me.

You can admire a watch for what it is but once you’ve seen what goes into it, the craftsmanship, the passions, the dedication, your admiration turns into reverence.

Which brings me to Vach! I was at the Vacheron Constantin Manufacture and fell in love with the Maison a little more …

What stayed with me:

- Two centuries in conversation. Modern CNC machines work beside century-old tools and lathes, and the result is something close to alchemy.

- The vault. A real, climate-controlled vault holding archives dating back to the 1700s. Standing among that much history, you feel the weight of it.

- The vintage pieces. I genuinely couldn’t take my eyes off them.

- The hospitality. Heartfelt thanks to the Vacheron team from Geneva and Dubai for the warmest welcome.

- A house that listens. Vacheron sits among the holy trinity of watchmaking, and it takes the craft seriously. But it never takes itself too seriously. The team listens to its audience, and the knowledge came wrapped in warmth and fun.

This is far too much for a caption, so I’ve written the full story. Stay tuned to hourmarkers.com for the details. @thehourmarkers by @kari_watch

How does this city always seem to amaze me . Geneva ❤️

The oldest building in Geneva

Even on a rainy day 🤍

Seen this so many time and never knew it was the older Vacheron Manufacture

This one too! Yes your vintage Vacheron may have been made here

Rue du Rhone in the rains

Geneva in the 1900’s … I think …

For real…

That view though

The longest bench in the world

Because who thought pumpkin soup could be that good !

How can you not love this city

That mandatory stop…

Come rain come storm, I’ll be back Geneva ❤️ by @kari_watch

We’re growing our team at @thehourmarkers and I’m hiring immediately.

The Hour Markers is growing fast. Alongside building India’s largest media platform for watches, our events have become a big part of who we are. We bring together the world’s leading watch brands and India’s most passionate collectors for experiences that don’t exist anywhere else in the country.

Now I’m building dedicated teams to take this to the next level. I’m looking for people to join us in Mumbai immediately:

- Project Manager, Events
- Events Manager
- Sales & Marketing Manager
- Video Editor

You don’t need to be a watch expert, though it helps if you’re curious about them. What matters most is energy, ownership and a love for creating world-class experiences.

If that excites you, send your CV and portfolio to connect@thehourmarkers.com with the role in the subject line.

Picks of the season…. Some watches that stood out for me so far.

Let the festivities begin … by @kari_watch

Had the most fun chat with Karan Anshuman and Siddharth Malhotra - two of the sharpest storytellers behind the camera, about what’s really on Bollywood’s wrists.

Spoiler: it’s not just the usual suspects. Independent watchmaking is having a big moment in the industry, and I loved hearing why.

If you had just 60 seconds to build your Tissot watch collection, which four watches would make the cut?

In this conversation, Karishma Karer, Co-founder of The Hour Markers, puts the question to Sylvain Dolla, CEO of Tissot, during his three-day visit to Mumbai, curated by The Hour Markers.

From the versatile PRX and elegant Desir Moonphase to the Seastar diver and the sport-focused T-Touch, Sylvain shares his four picks for a collection that covers every occasion.

Four watches, four different purposes, and a collection that proves just how wide Tissot’s range really is.
