POSTS STORIES REELS

In the stillness of Central Serengeti, where golden light meets ancient land, Serengeti Sametu Camp sits quietly at the edge of the wild. Days unfold with the rhythm of the bush-slow, deliberate, real. As shadows stretch and the sky deepens, the calls of predators echo across the plains, a reminder that here, life is felt more deeply. by @karibucamps

The drive is done. The sun melts into the horizon. A drink finds your hand and the day’s sightings replay like a film you never want to end.

Sundowners at Woodlands Camp aren’t just a tradition, they’re the exhale at the end of a perfect day.

What’s in your sundowner glass... a G&T, a cold Kilimanjaro or something bubbly? Let us know in the comments.

There is nothing on Earth quite like standing in the presence of an elephant, the slow grace of a matriarch leading her family, the rumble you feel before you hear, the intelligence behind those ancient eyes. In our parks, where the herds gather in their hundreds, we’re reminded daily of what a privilege it is to share these plains with them.

But this #WorldElephantDay is more than a celebration, it’s a promise. Across Africa, elephants still face habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict and the shadow of poaching. Protecting them isn’t the work of one day; it’s the work of every day and every guest who chooses to travel responsibly becomes part of that story.

At Karibu Camps & Lodges, we’re proud that our Tarangire Elephant Springs carries their name and honoured to play our small part in keeping the wild, wild.

Happy World Elephant Day! by @karibucamps

As the sun rises, the sky blushes and a flask of Tanzania coffee steams in your hands and somewhere out there, the plains are waking up too.

This is the quiet magic of safari, the moment before the wild begins its day.

Are you a sunrise-chaser or a sundowner soul?

Another beautiful morning in the Serengeti

After an early wake up at @karibucamps with my guests we headed to the eastern side of the Serengeti. Near Mawe Punda we were incredibly lucky to find a Darnley with her four cubbies .

What a start to the day I never get tired of watching these magnificent cats. Every sighting is special and seeing a mother caring for her cubs in the wild is truly a privilege.

After hours of an unsuccessful game drive, the Serengeti reminded us that magic happens precisely when you least expect it.

On our way back to @karibucamps Sametu, our guide spotted this majestic queen resting on a kopje. Just as we were soaking in her beauty, movement caught our eye—not one, but two beautiful cubs emerging into the golden hour light.

To capture the “ghost of the Serengeti” with her young cubs at sunset is a moment I will never forget. Truly an unforgettable African memory.
