Psalm 34:18 🥹. My daddy, my Pops, my hero, my first love and bestfriend. I really can’t get my words together today or any day for that matter. Today makes 1 whole year without you and it literally still feels like yesterday that I kissed your forehand walked out that room told you I’d see you in the morning yet hours later I got one of the worst calls of my life. I have nothing but simply I miss you so so much 💔. Life moves on for everyone else but I’m still in a world wind. I’m not okay but one day I will be and for that I’m grateful. I thank you for being the best dad any girl could ever have. I hope that I’m still making you proud. Your legacy will live on forever. I love you forever Pops!

It’s that time of the year again! Happy April & Happy Sarcoidosis Awareness Month 💜 April 28, 2024 my life changed forever. This month holds a very special place in my heart and it still amazes me that my dad passed at the end of the same month that honors this rare disease that he battled with for so long.

Last year we celebrated 25 years of FSR & this year we’re having our 5th Annual Steps for Sarc! So join me as we fundraise & take our #StepsforSam

Throughout the month of April, I will be participating in the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research’s (FSR) Taking Steps to See Sarcoidosis Initiative. I am taking steps and raising funds for FSR because sarcoidosis has touched my life in ways I never expected. I am hoping that together we can take 1.2 million steps to represent everyone around the world living with sarcoidosis and raise funds for the critical research, patient education, and support initiatives taking place at FSR.

Sarcoidosis is a disease that many people have never heard of, yet it affects thousands of individuals and families. It can impact multiple organs and often goes undiagnosed or misunderstood. That’s why the work FSR is doing is so important — they fund research, provide patient support, and push toward better treatments and a cure.

Dear God, I pray that my daughter always feels my love. I hope she understands that she is cherished and valued, not just by me, but by You as well. Help her to know that she is beautiful, strong, and capable of amazing things. Guide her steps and protect her from harm. May she always have a safe and loving home, and may she never doubt the love that surrounds her.

Happy 3rd Birthday, my precious girl! You’re such a bright and amazing little person. Watching you grow and learn each day is such a gift. I love you more than words can say. I thank God for the joy you bring to my life. May your heart be filled with love and light, and may you always feel the warmth of His grace. Not only is April Sarcoidosis Awareness Month, it is also the month I loss my father after a long fight with this rare disease. As I navigate my journey through grief and loss it was an honor to partner with this organization as one of the newest Community Outreach Leaders here in Georgia. There are approximately 1.2 million people worldwide who wake up each day and face the challenges of living with a rare disease including the symptoms and side effects like overwhelming fatigue, trouble breathing, chest pain, headaches, joint pain, skin lesions and rashes, an overall feeling of sickness, along with other physical and mental symptoms that patients experience living with sarcoidosis.  

This April, the sarcoidosis community is joining together to Face Sarcoidosis. During this April the sarcoidosis community will be using their voice and passion to raise awareness and increase understanding of the disease, accelerate research, and support those living with the physical and mental effects sarcoidosis can have on so many people from all over the world. 

April 28, 2024 will be a day I will never forget but I have joined the movement and ask you to join me in Facing Sarcoidosis Together. As I work towards turning my pain into purpose 💜

A whole 1 year old! My purpose, my reason and my strength. Watching you grow over the past 12 months has given me the happiest most precious moments of my life.
