It was an ordinary Monday morning today…rainy and cold…Ordinary warm-up 🪊and gym💪🏽, and then to a rehearsal with 17-18-year-old music students at Södra Latin…and my energy came back with a bang! 🎉💯🌸 A TOTAL boost to meet these talented students!

We will perform a short set together at Södra Latins Jazzfestival at Saturday Oct 17 at 18.00.
After that, I will guest the school’s big band - it will be a blast!
Welcome if you are in town! 🌸

Ps. The whole day starts 13.00 with concerts throughout the afternoon. Be there to check out the new generation of wonderful musicians! And there will ALSO be other super guest artists performing with the students, or what about @rigmorgustafssonofficial , @alexander_lovmark , @per.lindvall.1 and @alexanderbrott!!!🔥🔥🔥

Thank you @lira_musikmagasin for a first and very positive review of our up-comning album - ”Serenity Now” will be out October 9 on all platforms!💙🙏🏽

Here is the review in English according to Google Translate😁

*Serenity Now* is the fifth album from trombonist and composer Karin Hammar’s all-star team. Centered around Hammar’s warm, relaxed sound, the music is both lyrical and groovy, encompassing a wide range of genres. With this seasoned quartet, it feels as though the best of 1980s fusion has returned, imbued with a more meditative, contemplative musical language—one that blends neo-bop and folk-inflected melodies with fusion jazz and a distinctively Nordic tone.
For the sake of simplicity, we might call it Nordic post-fusion, and Karin Hammar’s ”Fab 4” is at the forefront of this movement. She returns here with her dream band—guitarist Andreas Hourdakis, bassist Pär-Ola Landin, and drummer Fredrik Rundqvist—with Hourdakis’s guitar crafting the harmonic framework for Hammar’s melodies.
The result is an open, airy soundscape into which guests Britta Virves (on Fender Rhodes—*Yeah!*) and Hildegun Øiseth (on trumpet and goat horn—*Oh yeah!*) seamlessly blend, as if born for this very setting.
