THE Initiatrix đŸ”„ guiding women home to their truth through cyclical wisdom, ritual & earth medicine.
Temple Door keeper of @therosetemplevenue
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This Spring, I’m opening the floor of The Rose Temple for something very simple.

A devotion to movement. Not another space where you need to introduce yourself, share your story, make conversation or spend half your day away from your life. A space where you can simply arrive and dance.

Every Saturday morning, for one hour, we’ll gather in silence. Leave your words in the car. Arrive at the Temple. Be cleansed with smoke at the door. Enter in silence. Dance. Move. Breathe. Sound. Express. Be guided back into your body.
And then
 leave.

No lingering. No sharing circle. No need to connect through words. Because sometimes the connection we are longing for isn’t conversation. It’s movement. And sometimes the thing that stops us from creating a consistent practice is the belief that it needs to take hours of our precious time.

This is for the woman who wants to weave dance into her life this Spring. Who wants somewhere beautiful and sacred to move her body each week. Who knows that consistency creates devotion — and would love to be held by a space, a rhythm and a community to actually show up for it.

One hour. A sacred interruption to your Saturday morning. Then back into your car, back to your family, back to your day, back to your life — hopefully a little more inside your body than when you arrived.

We’ll be keeping the floor intentionally intimate, capped at 8 women each Saturday morning.

If this is the kind of space you’ve been longing for, comment DANCE below and I’ll send you the details. by @karisharlon

There is a wisdom our daughters deserve to receive long before their first blood arrives.

Not in one awkward conversation when puberty is already upon them, but slowly, gently, over years — woven into the way they understand their bodies, the Earth, the Moon and the rhythms of life.

To know that they are cyclical beings. That their energy will rise and fall. That rest is not laziness. That sensitivity is not weakness. That their bodies are not something to fear, fix or hide. And that their first blood is not an inconvenience, but a threshold into a new season of womanhood.

But this wisdom cannot only be taught.

Our daughters are watching how we inhabit our own bodies. They are watching whether we honour our need for rest. Whether we listen when our bodies whisper. Whether we speak about our blood with shame or reverence. Whether we push through every season or allow ourselves to soften, retreat, create, bloom and begin again.

We are their first living transmission of what it means to be a woman. And so The Moon’s Cool is not only for our daughters.
It is for us, too.

A place for Mothers & Daughters to sit in circle together. To remember the ancient wisdom of cyclical living. To learn it intellectually, experience it energetically and begin weaving it into the fabric of everyday life.

So that when her first blood eventually comes, she does not meet her body as a stranger. She meets something she has been learning to love and trust for years. 🌙đŸŒč

The Sacred Medicine of the Blue Lotus đŸȘ·

This morning I spent time harvesting Blue Lotus from our sacred pond here at Haven. What began as a simple morning of harvesting became such a potent journey of deep perceiving, stillness and gratitude.

As I sat beside the water, I invited the stillness of the pond into my own body, into my heart, into the deepest places of my being. I softened into her realm, opened my senses and allowed myself to simply receive. To listen beyond words, to feel beyond thought, and to remember the extraordinary wisdom that becomes available when we slow down enough to truly perceive.

I’ve been walking the Blue Lotus path for four years now, with absolute devotion, and her medicine continues to deepen within me. Her roots have woven themselves into the muddy depths of my being, holding me through the many seasons of my life, through my own cycles of death, rebirth, becoming and bloom.

And this morning, she offered me another beautiful reminder. There was a tiny lotus bud resting quietly at the surface of the water. Right beside her was a sister in full, magnificent bloom. And as I sat witnessing these two beautiful beings, I was so deeply moved by the little bud.

She wasn’t rushing to open. She wasn’t comparing herself to the magnificent bloom beside her. She wasn’t questioning whether she was behind, whether she should be further along, whether she was somehow less magnificent because her petals were still closed.

She was simply being. Resting at the surface, receiving the birdsong, the sunlight, the gentle movement of the water. Completely present in her own becoming, trusting the sacred intelligence of her own cycle.

And oh, what profound medicine this is for us as women. How deeply can you honour exactly where you are?

There is something so incredibly potent about women gathering in circle to create with their hands, to sculpt, weave and craft with intention.

This morning we gathered for our beautiful Four Elements Clay Altar workshop, and goodness, what a soul-nourishing morning it was.

Intentional shamanic crafting is so much more than simply making something beautiful. It is a form of creative therapy, an invitation to explore, witness, heal and transform some of our deepest beliefs and wounds through the creative process. There is something magical that happens when we allow our hands to become the storytellers, giving form to what lives within us.

Each woman sculpted her own portable Four Elements altar, a sacred piece to accompany her in her personal devotion. Something she can carry into the forest, down to the river, or place upon her altar at home. A beautiful, tangible reminder of her relationship with Earth, Water, Fire and Air, and the reverence she holds for the natural world.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful medicines of all is simply women gathering together. Sharing stories, laughter, creativity and presence. Remembering the ancient art of making sacred things with our hands, in the company of sisters.

It was SO delicious that Zephyr and I have already begun dreaming up our next collaboration
and this one is going to be rather special! đŸŒč

Our next offering will be a Vulva Clay workshop, an invitation to sculpt and honour the sacred feminine form through intentional clay crafting.

If this is calling to you, keep your eyes peeled! We’ll be sharing the invitation to join us very soon.

With so much gratitude to the beautiful women who joined us in circle today. What a gift to create together. đŸ€Ž

Thank You to Zephyr @youngandmagicatelier who guided us to beautifully through the creative process.

One of the most beautiful reflections of how deeply a woman trusts in the natural cycles of creation is her ability to witness another sister in her full bloom, regardless of what season she herself is moving through.

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately. How easy is it to celebrate a sister when you’re both in your spring or summer? When you’re both feeling radiant, creative, vivacious and full of life. But what about when she’s in her glorious bloom and you’re deep in your autumn descent, feeling grumpy, tender, confronted by your shadows and wanting to retreat? Or when you’re deep in your winter, craving silence, stillness and solitude?

Can you still witness her in all her magnificence? Can you celebrate her loudness, her radiance, her seemingly endless energy and her desire to be seen, without needing her to become quieter or smaller to meet you where you are?

I find this such a beautiful reflection of how deeply we have embodied the wisdom of cyclical living.

Because if we find ourselves thinking, “Gosh, she’s a lot,” or “Does she ever stop?” or feeling irritated by her energy, jealous of her expansion, or secretly wishing we could be where she is, then I see this as such beautiful medicine. An invitation to look more deeply at our own relationship with the seasons of creation.

Do we really trust our winter? Do we truly honour our autumn? Or is there still a part of us that believes we are somehow less worthy, less magnificent, less powerful when we aren’t blooming?

One of the things that always fascinates me when people come to Haven and meet our magnificent Grandmother Mango Tree for the first time is how quickly they are drawn to her. Her enormous presence, her beauty, her magnificence. And yet, so often, one of the very first questions they ask is, “Does she still produce fruit?”

And I always find this such an interesting reflection of the culture we live in. This deeply ingrained idea that our worth is somehow measured by what we produce, what we create, what we contribute. That to be valuable, we must still be bearing fruit.

In all the years we’ve had the sacred privilege of being custodians of this land, I’ve never once wished for her to produce the sweet mangoes she perhaps once did. Because to me, the fruit she bears now is something infinitely more precious.

She is our wise Crone. Our ancient Grandmother. A magnificent elder who has stood on this land through countless seasons, witnessed so many changes, felt so much life move beneath her canopy and through her roots. And the wisdom she shares with me is some of the most sacred medicine I have ever received.

I bow at her roots. I rest against her trunk. I sit in deep reverence for the wisdom she so generously offers me, day after day.

And it makes me think about how we treat our human elders. I wouldn’t sit at the feet of a wise old woman and ask her why she is no longer bearing the fruits of her youth. She has already walked that path. She has moved through that sacred rite of passage and arrived somewhere else entirely. Somewhere where her greatest offering is no longer what she produces, but the wisdom she embodies. The stories she carries. The sacred transmission of a life deeply lived.

And yet, as a culture, how much of this have we forgotten?

THE ELDERS OF HAVEN 🌿

This is the first sharing in a new series where I sit with and interview some of the elders here on the land at Haven. Today, we sat beneath our great-great-grandmother tree and asked her what a human can do when they’re feeling emotional, sad, angry or overwhelmed.

Her wisdom was beautifully simple: come and sit at my roots, and allow yourself to cry. Sit upon the earth, lean your body against mine, breathe, and let whatever needs to move through you, move.

It always makes me giggle when I recognise this pattern in us humans. We so often think the answers need to be complicated, profound or shocking to be valuable. We search for the elaborate teaching or the thing we haven’t heard before, while overlooking the simple medicine that has been sitting right in front of us all along.

Living in such close relationship with the land here continually brings me back to the simplicity of nature. Again and again, I’m reminded that it really does get to be this simple, this gentle and this beautiful.

So if you’re feeling sad, angry or emotional today, perhaps you don’t need to figure it all out. Go outside and find a tree. Sit upon the earth at her roots, place your spine against her spine, close your eyes and breathe.

Allow whatever needs to be expressed to be expressed. No fixing or analysing, just you, the earth, the tree, your breath and whatever wants to move through you. 🌿 by @karisharlon

To live separately from nature is to live separately from Self.

The more time you spend immersed in the natural world
away from technology, artificial light, electricity and the constant frequencies of modern life
the more something ancient begins to return. You remember that you are not simply in nature. You are nature.

You are the rock and the tree. You are the water, the earth and the wind. You are the bird calling from the canopy and the turtle moving slowly through the river. The same intelligence that moves through them moves through you.

And when we spend enough time here, nature begins reflecting our own wisdom back to us. Not through words or information, but through relationship. Through watching, touching, tending, listening and simply being.

This is why the wisdom received through nature feels so different from wisdom gathered intellectually. You don’t simply learn about patience
you watch the forest practise it. You don’t read about cycles
you live amongst beings who surrender completely to them. You don’t study belonging
you begin to remember that you have never been separate.

Slowly, almost effortlessly, the wisdom moves from something you understand into something you embody.

It becomes less of what you know.

And more of who you are. by @karisharlon

There is a humble, almost indescribable medicine available to us through flowers.

Flowers are incredibly high-frequency beings. Their beauty, colour, scent and sheer aliveness offer something to our bodies that doesn’t need to be intellectualised. Simply being in their presence can invite more vitality, joy and beauty into our days.

So weave more flowers into your life. Walk the route that takes you past the neighbour’s overflowing rose garden. Wander through the nature reserve when the wildflowers are blooming. Bring flowers into your home. And if you have the space, plant a garden and fill it with as many flowers as you possibly can.

Seek out beauty. Sit amongst it. Tend it. Let yourself receive its medicine.

And if there are chickens wandering amongst the flowers, even better. 🌾🐓 by @karisharlon
