if ur looking for a casual lunch spot in irvine, most of the mains here are around $15–18 + the portions are super filling!! 😋 they also have $13 deals during the weekday so i’d recommend if ur a UCI student 🥢🤍 we tried a little bit of everything but surprisingly the yubu pockets were my FAVORITE 😭 i’d def get the 4 pc set to share + a katsu main!! i love allll the katsu dishes here 😮💨🫰

if ur planning a food trip to the sgv, add this spot to ur list!! 🥟🥢 bao z bistro is in diamond plaza right next to chubby cattle and has such a huge menu beyond just soup dumplings, including noodles, crispy pan-seared buns, rice dishes + even desserts and specialty drinks 😋🍜 they have both kurobuta pork and wagyu beef options, and a lot of their smaller dishes are under $15, so i’d definitely recommend coming with friends and ordering a bunch to share!! 💯 just keep in mind it can get pretty busy on weekends 👀

if ur looking for creative and FRESH handrolls, u need to check out temaki society 🍣 their menu has everything from their classic temaki five to more unique rolls with uni, caviar, blue crab + even vietnamese/korean-inspired flavors. we tried the temaki five, blue crab, golden uni, CUT, yuzu miso poke + seaweed salad, and i’d definitely save room for one of the specialty handrolls!! 💯 perfect for a quick sushi lunch or casual dtla food stop 😛 their takeout packaging is also super unique bc it keeps the nori crispy, so i’d def recommend their handrolls 😋🫰

if u can never decide between hot pot, bbq + seafood, this place basically turns AYCE into an entire supermarket experience 😭🦞 you grab a cart + shop through their meat, live seafood and hot pot stations, but i’d definitely come during their weekly events for the BEST VALUE!! mondays are lobster day (market select gets ½ lobster per round + you can line up again, while the $139 seafood deluxe gets unlimited lobster), wednesdays chubby club PLUS members can get A5 wagyu w/ market select, and fridays are their bluefin tuna cutting shows w/ AYCE bluefin for market select + a $20 upgrade for chutoro & otoro. we went on friday + getting to watch the whole tuna breakdown before eating it was sooo cool!! 😮💨🛒
