The bridges between extreme metal and club music.

Karkossyn’s reassembly of Anaesthetic Attack is doom metal in bass music form. Beyond brutal. & Nolans Shattered Colours has birthed a genre (that will in no doubt become a global movement). FUNERAL JUNGLE. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

Straight from the heart this stuff, no dark dj club shit this time. Nostalgia, family and my weird little childhood memories fuel the spine of the narrative. My latest release and first album as Grandma Love is out now on @ctatsupurr

In a way, it’s rooted in that last era of analogue childhood. Knocking on your mate’s door, footie on the street, rockpooling at the beach, building dens in the woods and buying penny sweets. Starting fires, trespassing and going cherry knocking. An homage to a time before iPhones, Netflix and fucking Snapchat dog filters. Back when you carried coins in your pocket instead of a computer.

Thank fuck I got a little taste of the world before apps and screens took over. Anyway, whatever, back to these silly little social media ego flexes.

Not so fun fact: ‘That’s Right’ features vocal recordings of my great gran. She was part of the original inspiration behind the name and project. Sadly, she passed away a few months back at the age of 98, bless her. A proper sweetheart. She’d always sneak me a cheeky tenner and some chocolate when I was a young lad. She made the world’s worst cup of tea too, just pure milk.

Thanks to those of you who have jumped on GL since day one, proud to share and release music a bit more on the personal side.

Karkossyn - Undergrowth [ERO002]

@karkossyn returns to the shadows with Undergrowth. A
harrowing descent into the Bristolian void that pushes dark drum and bass into its most predatory forms.

Drawing from dnb, trip-hop, and jungle, the soundscapes are characterized by a visceral dread birthed from the dampest corners of the South West. These tracks are built on distorted bass, gritty drums, and raw percussion, layered with atmospheric drones that heighten the feeling of suspense throughout.

Adding to the murk, Bristol’s own @pessimistmusic provides a remix that results in a skeletal, rhythmic haunting. It is a definitive statement of UK dread, solidifying Karkossyn’s place as an uncompromising architect of industrial-tinged carnage. Marking a milestone for the imprint, this serves as Erosion’s first
physical release.
