“My senior year of dance has finally come to an end.”

Even typing that sentence feels unreal.

I’ve been putting off posting my senior dance pictures because I didn’t want it to be real. For the past nine years, dance has been such a huge part of my life. It taught me how to express my emotions before I even knew how to put them into words, and this year especially, it became my greatest outlet.

This year brought more challenges than I ever expected. Between losing my grandma, my biggest supporter, and dealing with injury after injury due to my autoimmune, dance became something close to therapy. It showed me how strong I am and gave me a place where I could let everything out.

This season was filled with moments I’ll never forget. I choreographed for my sister and a small group, received judges’ awards for my choreography, consistently placed with my solo, won Highest Score of the Day with my duo partner, became captain of an amazing team, celebrated my baby sister winning her first overall title, got to see the Rockettes perform in person, received D1 offers, and danced alongside some incredibly talented people. Through it all, I gave God all the glory for the gift He gave me.

More than any award, dance taught me that the most important part isn’t the pirouettes, jumps, or tricks, it’s the people who stand by you during your hardest moments and celebrate every victory with you.

This isn’t goodbye to dance. I’ll be continuing my dance journey at UNC, and I truly believe the best is yet to come.

Thank you to @erinbusler, @keith.darby.35, the Carolina Spotlight Senior Team, and the PCCS Dance Team for everything you’ve taught me and for helping shape the dancer, and person, I am today. 🤍 by @karleighxdancing

Dance Regional Season 2025 Recap!

This season has flown by, and it’s been such an exciting journey! I’ve had the opportunity to compete at StarTalent, Applause, Showstoppers, Stage Ready, Ultimate Starz, and South East Showdown, each one bringing new challenges and unforgettable memories.

It’s been an honor to represent both Carolina Spotlight’s senior teams and PCCS’s competitive team this year. I’m currently preparing for Nationals this summer, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds!

These past few days have been especially eventful:
• On Friday, I performed in 9 dances at the PCCS Spring Show, including my studio solo.
• On Saturday, my school team was invited to perform at the @gastoniaghostpeppers Star Wars Night, and my studio team danced at the Down Home Festival in Bessemer City!

Feeling grateful for every moment and excited for what’s ahead!

(Also proud to say my duo with @sydney_greene146 has been undefeated all season and we can not wait to bring the dance to the national level! 😁) by @karleighxdancing

2023 has truly been one of the craziest years of my life. I went through a lot this year but one thing consistent in my life is dance. Dance has been my outlet when the times got harder and has taught me growth can look different for me than other people. As a dancer and a person I have grown tremendously. I am so grateful for every single moment I have spent training with the people I love so deeply. Above all else I thank God for giving me the ability to dance. I am so excited to see what the 2024 dance season brings. 🤍 by @karleighxdancing
