To my best friend and daddy,
There was never a second that you didn’t understand me. It was amazing how seen you made me feel. I understood from a young age that you were my saving grace. I’d never have to do life alone as long as you were by my side, but here we are. I had to say goodbye to my heart. My favorite person to walk this earth. I could count on you to say the most out of pocket stuff to make me laugh. And there was never a day that went by that you didn’t show how great your love was. Daddy, honestly I’m not ready at all and I’m scared. This feels like a bad dream and I can’t wake up. But I promise I am trying to navigate. I keep thinking about the small things. So many stages of my life I pictured you in, but ultimately I pictured you in all my plans. Life will never and I truly mean never feel the same. You kept me afloat. You made sure I wasn’t just surviving. I couldn’t have asked God to hand pick me a better dad. You are the greatest thing I’ve ever lost. I will miss you in every laugh, every tear, every song, and every time my heart beats because I know that there’s a hole that will and could never be filled. I love you daddio, I cannot wait to see you. These past few days have already felt like hell. But I remain resilient for you. Thank you jesus for taking him home to a place where he’ll never know pain again. by @karliennicole
