Olympic distance triathlon ✅ checked off Adrien’s list!! So proud of how he trains and then gets it done in way better time than he anticipated!

And of course Audrey and I ran all over trying to catch him as he ran by, she was in a good mood and enjoying all the energy even if we had to wake her up and bring her out in the cold to start the morning before sunrise!

Still can’t believe we visited The Forbidden City and the Great Wall on a layover with our 13 month old!

We used Beijing Explore Tours and had a private car with a driver and tour guide, they brought us a car seat, blankets, and coats (Communist jackets from the 80s 😅).

They dropped us off on one side of the forbidden city and our driver zipped across to pick us up while our tour guide was literally doing a running tour giving us thousands of years of history in an hour! It was so thrilling that Audrey napped almost the whole time 🤣

Then it was off to the Great Wall and we got lucky there was some kind of government even which meant only certified tour guides were allowed access and we basically had the Great Wall to ourselves!! It was very cold but with perfect blue skies! Everyone was saying “kangaroo” to us because Adrien was wearing Audrey 🤣

Then we ate some legit Chinese food, Audrey was a huge fan I think she ate the stuffing of about 10 dumplings all by herself!

To end the adventure, we had a lovely little scenic drive back to the airport

⚠️Excuse our jet lagged looks we had already done an 8 hour early morning flight!

These are the days I hope I remember clearly when I’m 95! 🥹

Family day in Montréjeau! We played, walked around the lake, swam (triathlon prep for Adrien) and picnicked, hiked up for a better view of the Pyrenees! A perfect day only an hour from home!

Trying to make it my mission to remember how much there is to do around where we live instead of wanting to go somewhere far away every chance I get! 🙃 taken in Montréjeau by @karlyn.wanders

She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is taken care of, travels around the world to babysit, and is always ready to help with whatever her family needs!

Make that girls trip happen, yall!!!

It was so good to get away to the beach with the girls for a weekend! Belly laughing, swimming in the cold water, and having no responsibilities except figuring out what to eat and drink next 🤣🤣

It’s been so sweet watching my grandparents chase my baby around Toulouse this past week!!! I’m so thankful that they are still able and willing to come spend time with us! They timed it to so I wouldn’t have to travel back to France alone with an 18 month old 😅 iykyk

We visited Toulouse, Albi and they watched Audrey go down about 100 different slides in all the parks around town!!

📍Iceland memories from 3 summers ago popped up on my feed this morning!!

2 weeks van camping alllll around Iceland! Waterfalls, glaciers, volcanos, Viking villages! Still one of my favorite and definitely one of the most magical trips of my life!

@adrien_pele said he didn’t want anything for his birthday…He should know by now that means I’m booking something 😅

This year it was an ecolodge 10 minutes outside of Toulouse, and it was so interesting hearing some of the things the owner did to make it as sustainable and respectful of the environment as possible!

-Natural AC from a tunnel pulling cool filtered air up from underground. I was legit cold at night. In July. In the south of France. 🤯

Every material in the house sourced locally, down to the board games made by @alortujou in the Pyrenees. Adrien was of course annoyingly good at the games as usual.

-The Japanese bath runs on a wood fire in winter. In summer it’s somehow still the perfect temperature.

Oh, and the worst night of sleep we’ve had in a year (I guess Audrey is teething 🤷🏽‍♀️) but we can’t hold that against the Ecolodge. 😂

Another good touristing day with the grandparents in Albi! We caught the @petittrainoccitan just in time to avoid the rain! Had lunch (and an affogato) at the @marche.couvert.albi.81 then a quick walk around town and in the @jardinsdupalaisroyal 😍 by @karlyn.wanders
