POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Between 1921-1971 (for 50 years) women were banned by The FA from playing football. 100 years on and we still feel the effects of this policy change; we’re at the bottom of every wait list for pitch spaces.

Yesterday my club @goaldiggers_fc were invited by @premierleague, @budfootball & @jameelaelfaki to play at Arsenal😮. There is this idea that female professional players (not saying that I am one) can’t play in men’s stadiums because they think women’s teams won’t sell out the pitches, but you cant grow the game without any space to grow it.

Big up @goaldiggers_fc and @fleurcousens for giving me a safe, encouraging and fun space to train and play football. I love the camaraderie in our club and that everyone is so supportive, no matter what level you play at. Furthermore I love that it is a safe place for queer, trans, non-binary & POC of all ages. by @karmabertelsen

Happiest on the trails, the hillier the better. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire way.

Spent the first half of the run catching up with Tom who I met on Tour Du Mont Blanc earlier this summer.

Tour Du Mont Blanc
A week of hiking ~150km & climbing ~10,000m with strangers (who became friends). France to Italy to Switzerland and back to France.

No photo does the Alps justice. Crossing borders in the clouds, sleeping in remote refuge’s, waking up to mountains every direction. A full week completely shut off from everyday life, and I feel so privileged to have experienced it. by @karmabertelsen

Did my first marathon a few weeks ago and for some reason chose a trail marathon with +900m climbing 🌚 instead of a flat road one. I was very worried going into it with an injury and little training in the 2 months leading up to it but I enjoyed every minute of it and had such a wonderful time. Big thanks to @wccc_uk for helping me secure the place and providing such an encouraging community to be a part of. Also to @maverickrace for organising such an incredible event.

And the biggest thanks to @chriscayford, @nathanfairweather, Finn 🐶 & Akira 🐕 for meeting me at the finish line. 🖤 by @karmabertelsen

I finally made it to Skomer Island a few weeks ago and it was such an incredible experience. There’s so much nature on our doorstep in the UK. It’s so important we experience it (in a respectful way) and commit to protecting it. by @karmabertelsen
