Back-to-back Class II restorations

Two adjacent restorations, one step-by-step workflow.

From preparation and bonding to matrix placement, contact points and final anatomy. Swipe through to see how I approach these cases!

In the next post, we’ll take a closer look at the cusp-by-cusp layering technique and how to recreate natural posterior morphology. taken in IJsselstate Tandartsen by @karmadentistry

Is teeth whitening bad for your teeth? 🦷 ✨

No, when approved by your dentist and done at home with 10% carbamide peroxide it’s the safest and most cost-effective way of improving your smile!

From muddy miles to much-needed dental care.

We supported the KARMA Foundation team as they took on the Tromsø Mountain Challenge: 50 kilometres and 2,000 metres of ascent above the Arctic Circle, through mist, rocks, knee-deep mud and icy river crossings.

Together with the other partners, we helped raise € 6,000 for SUN Hilversum’s dental care project.

During the local Dentists’ Day on 6 and 7 November, the funds will help people in urgent need of dental care.
Proud to have played a part.

*** Lecturing *** It was an amazing experience and a privilege to lecture for the prestigious European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) this year in Barcelona about my experience with the treatment of enamel defects in the anterior dentition. I also showed the Bleach, Infiltrate & Bond (BIB) protocol.

Small changes can have a big impact.

Post-orthodontic shape corrections can be the final step that brings a smile together.
In this case, a few small composite additions to the lateral incisors were enough to refine shape, proportions and symmetry.
No elaborate layering. Just one shade, the right shape and a high-gloss finish. taken in IJsselstate Tandartsen by @karmadentistry

One Minute to Master: The Sagittal Putty Index 🦷

One of the most underrated tools in restorative dentistry. A sagittal putty index helps you evaluate the available space before you start restoring a tooth. Whether you’re placing direct composite, preparing veneers, or planning crowns, it gives you a predictable reference and helps prevent over- or under-contouring.
Simple. Fast. Incredibly useful.

👉 Do you use a sagittal putty index in your daily workflow? taken in IJsselstate Tandartsen by @karmadentistry
