On July 12th, the PHSYC hosted a disaster relief kit packing event, packing over 100 bags (~4000 items) to be donated to vulnerable families in Venezuela. Thanks to @karmaforcara for providing the necessary funding to complete this amazing project!! And, thanks to our amazing partner, @allhandsandhearts for partnering with us to complete this impactful event.We hope to hold more of these events soon. Happy Disability Pride Month! Microgrant recipient Makenna, 13, from WI + the Lima 4-H Club used her Karma for Cara award to add obstacles for therapeutic riding at Triple H Ranch & Therapeutic Horsemanship — which enriches sessions for kids with disabilities as well as the horses 🐴 In Makenna’s words: “A large part of 4-H is helping other people and what better way to do it than to help animals and people. Therapy riding is so important because riders bond with their horses which builds their confidence. Riders have a chance to feel free while riding and feel important. To help riders continue to feel like they are progressing and growing skills, they need new obstacles and challenges to conquer. The horses also need new activities to try so that they feel like they are learning, too! “New challenges keep everyone engaged!
