I planned to be posting all weekend, but ended up just living in the moment- and what a magical moment it was! Yesterday, my mom, the incredible @tpyfer , made her TedTalk debut at the America250 Democracy Ted event in Philadelphia. To say she crushed it would be an understatement. She was absolutely radiant, and she brought down the house. I know I brag about my mom on this app a lot, but this weekend was really special. I got to sit in the audience with my dad, @kimberlypbeatty and @elpyfer , @chiboston , @tomrosshirt , @alexa_merr , @aliciaburke202 , Stef, and Steven- all people who love and support my mom. When she walked out onto the stage, it was everything I could do not to immediately burst into tears. I am so proud to be her daughter and so proud of what she has helped to build. On an even more personal note, the blouse she wore belonged to her grandma (my great-grandma Gardner). As my mom took the stage, I had a brief flash of all the incredible women who came before but who are no longer with us- the ones who stood behind her, cheering her on; my Grandma Wight (my mom’s mom) who was there, holding her breath and absolutely bursting with pride, and of all of the women who will come after. My mom is an inspiration and I am incredibly blessed to be able to witness this moment and this movement. by @karrenpyfer

Almost 30 years ago, I took my first airplane ride. I went with my mom, @tpyfer , to visit my grandparents in Estonia. That trip was chaos, but after delayed flights, missed transfers, and a few tears, we made it safely. Since then, we have had many adventures together and always have fun. But- today is the first time since Estonia that we’ve adventured abroad, and we didn’t even have to sleep on an airport floor! I’m so excited to spend the week with my mom in Germany and Greece! If any of you know Eleanor, you’ll know that she is OBSESSED with the show Psych (@psychpeacock )- she has watched the series all the way through 4 times in the last 2 years. Since it’s the 20th anniversary of Psych, we decided to surprise her with tickets to the Psych convention @journeytoevents with a bonus photo op with @jamesroday . As you can see, she’s beyond thrilled. I’m so happy for her! She and @drewminalga will have a blast in San Francisco!! #psych #psychfancisco #jamesroday #sanfrancisco by @karrenpyfer

Ended the weekend celebrating this guy! We got to enjoy cousins, play games, eat treats, and give Pappy a hard time. And the afternoon ended with some wrestling- as usual (Phillip was really looking out for Emerson!) by @karrenpyfer

Saturday morning snuggles followed by brunch with the besties, digging through the Goodwill bins, and soccer / lacrosse games. We were so excited that Pappy joined us, even though the kiddos used him as a beanbag chair. 🤣 by @karrenpyfer

All caught up! March started out in upstate New York where I got to check out the town for spiritualists- Lily Dale- in between workshops. I also hit up the National Comedy Center (SO FUN!), and the Lucille Ball Museum. Met up with @moezyficker and @tamrajohnson0000 for dinner and a chance to catch up. The last pic is the not-so-sneaky (stalker) pic of Flavor Flav. He was on my flight to Detroit and I stopped to thank him for the event he’s hosting for the women’s Olympic teams. by @karrenpyfer

February ended in Helena, MT- one of my favorite places! I got to work with their teachers and train on the Dignity Index. I also got to meet some people from Sidney, MT, my mom’s very small home town! Montana definitely feels like home! by @karrenpyfer
