First, me and this guy got a plane.

Thanks for a lovely, refreshing, stress free get away! These gals are three of the best ones!
Thanks to @birdsnestcabin for the exceptional accommodation. Its a beautiful space, add the beautiful people, and mother effin' FIELDS?! A getaway nothing short of perfection! @krisscarr21 and @1gr8tgal and Anne (too cool for social media) make great partners in crime! "STAY FRESH MEAT BAG"

So lucky to have these ladies in my life. If you cant go on an epic thirty minute road trip with your crew, are you even living???
The final "50th birthday" bow for me. But i have had a full year of great memories with great friends! Wrap it up in this bow, with these people.

There were five of us with milestone birthdays this year. So it seemed most appropriate to have a weekend away. We stayed in a huge country house, had a full on spa day, sat quietly and knit or read. And laughed outrageously and had a couple drinks. Went for a few walks. Did a little shopping. All together a great time. taken in Fort Langley Village by @karrilee

My love for the Duke family runs deep. When tragedy struck, I wasn't sure of the best way to handle it. But, if you know them, the only answer could be "be there". So, I did my best. And, i hope it was good enough. Dan Duke is deeply missed and beloved by so many. I didnt know him as well as I would have liked. But, it sure wasn't hard to appreciate him. As with all of the Dukes, he was kind, and generous and fun, and so many other things.
The Duke brothers have often been a beacon for me when I thought of how I wanted my own children to be in this world. Kind, generous and fun.
I hope on top of all of those things, Dan now has peace. Thanks for the memories.
1) Guy and I last summer when we reconnected after years of not being near enough to see each other.
2) he wore gold pants. How can you not fall in love with a guy who wears gold pants?
3) we gathered in Vancouver to toast a man well loved. With some family and friends.
4) I took an airplane to calgary to be able to hug Guy while we gathered again to honor the life of his brother.
5)I had the best place to stay. Thanks to Bill and Christi for the welcoming home and always delightful company.
6) Proof that I sang karaoke. At Dan's life celebration.

Here's to nineteen years of Michael. Not quite as many of strawberry ice cream, but, its close! This feels like a big one, for whatever reason. I hope you always have a reason to share that beautiful smile with the people around you. Happy Birthday to the one who reminds me so much of me it's uncanny.
Make this one the best one yet!

As I wrap up what is the last of my 50th bday celebrations (now with less that eleven months left till the next one!),I am so grateful for all of it. It has set everything into place for this next bit. I'm sure it will be even better than the last bit, and that has been pretty great! Forever grateful for all of you that have been a part of this whole thing. What a way to round it out. This @birdsnestcabin is pure happiness. If you need a place to visit not too far away, I highly recommend it. Definetly one of the best. Now, back home we go. Refreshed and reset. Thanks to @1gr8tgal and Anne for dropping everything and keeping me company on short notice. by @karrilee

It hasn't even been a week since I turned Fifty. And what a week it's been! Thanks to all of you who took the time to make me feel special and loved. It really was overwhelming. And thanks to @hollmill for being an amazing adventure partner. Everything is easier with friends. Thank you to all of you (you know who you are!) Who put up with me crying about turning Fifty. And laughing about how I don't care about turning Fifty. Just, thanks. There is more coming. But, for now that will do. by @karrilee
