Around this time last year, I applied to 4 law schools: Yale, NYU, Harvard, and Penn. After a successful application cycle, I am happy to announce that I will be attending NYU School of Law as the recipient of two full tuition merit scholarships!

If you knew little Kasi, you would know that attending @nyulaw has been a long-time dream of mine. I am so grateful to say dreams do come true.

I am officially a Trojan Alumna!

After four years as a full-tuition merit Trustee Scholar, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Public Relations & Advertising, earning departmental honors.

Throughout undergrad, I had the opportunity to work for a federal district judge, two government executives (@sylvesterturner & @linahidalgotx), one of the largest global news media channels (@cnn), the #1 law firm in Texas (@vinsonelkins) and a reentry-focused non-profit (@thesentencingfoundation) — all across four major cities: Rome, Houston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

Additionally, I was a Defense Trial Attorney for @uscmocktrial, a Lead Teacher Assistant for @uscpep teaching writing courses to currently incarcerated women, and a Teacher Assistant for a grad-level political advocacy course at @uscannenberg.

I am SO grateful to be the first person in my family to have access to these academic and professional spaces. But I will not be the last.

Thank you to my mentors, family, and friends for your continuous support. Three degrees down, one more to go! by @kaschondralynn

Mayoral Proclamation Signing in Live-Action.

Thank you all once again for those that supported the Houston Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights from the foundation to the Mayoral Proclamation. It was an honor to draft and speak on this Mayoral Proclamation.

Hope you all get to watch :).

On April 18, I had the honorable career milestone of presenting and speaking to the City Council on the Mayoral Proclamation signed by City of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, dedicated to a bill, Houston Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights (COBOR), that will improve nature accessibility for underrepresented and low-income communities and youth across the City of Houston.

I was also honored to have drafted the initial draft of the Mayoral Proclamation signed by Mayor Turner, where 80% of the initial draft was included in the final product—showcasing that the City of Houston is dedicated to including youth voices.

Presenting, speaking, drafting, and being the Lead Intern of this initiative's Mayoral Proclamation is a major milestone in my career in politics and law. I am happy that this proclamation will assist underrepresented communities like mine in receiving equity for youth, regardless of zip code, race, and income level. #fyp by @kaschondralynn
