Last year in July I booked an Airbnb experience called "Feeling Samurai Soul" while in Japan. It was hosted by Yusuke-san and Makoto-san, and had you clothed in kimono and hakama samurai style garb. There was a tea ceremony with Matcha green tea and Wagashi sweets, and you got to learn about the assembly and parts of a katana, as well as practice with an unsharpened blade. Then after performing a traditional Zen meditation "Rituzen", your mind was then calm, ready for you to cut through a bundle of straws with a real sharpened katana.

While I was initially nervous to go through with it, it was something I am tremendously glad I had the chance to experience, and would definitely recommend/take someone with me on my next visit.

Happy escape the womb day to me! I fought the others in the womb to come out on top and I survived. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes!

I also want to take this time to clarify. Cosplay photography and photography in general will always be a hobby for me.
-
In 2019 I burnt out hard trying to turn this into a side hustle. Pushing myself and trying to cater to a few bad apple clients really soured the experience of going to cons and doing shoots. It lead to backlogs and this weird anxiety whenever I tried to edit photos. Overtime I have gotten over the burn out thanks to friends dragging me out to gatherings and fun casual shoots. Eventually helping me attend conventions again.

Seeing everyone at Yeticon last month reminded me how much I enjoyed photography and the cosplay community, and doing this as a fun hobby.
So I want to thank everyone who has been a positive aspect in our community. You don't know how much taking up photography as a hobby can change someone's life. So cheers to you all.
