December is always such festive month! From one end of the year party to another xmas party and so it continues. This December we filled our old new home with great vibes to celebrate wonderful people in our life and good times together! Every year we are so grateful for the community around us! This year even more so after living overseas for 18 months and coming back home to settle back and reconnect! Thanks for welcoming us back, going through this transition with us, supporting us and being our tribe 💕 #festivedecember #housewarming #ourtribe #friendsandfamily #lovecapetown by @kashbergh
It was a beautiful Christmas for so many reasons but one in particular! Amongst many special gifts we received this gift from us to us will keep on giving for hopefully so many more years to come! Meet Toffee dog! The newest member of the Bergh clan! Although she has only arrived very recently she’s already given us so many fun and memorable moments! Here’s to creating many more memories and spamming you all with the pics of this adorable #labradoodle 😉 We hope you all had a wonderful Xmas spent with loved ones and created many memories together 💕 by @kashbergh
This time last year we returned to South Africa after 18 months of living in France 🇫🇷→🇿🇦 So many reflections since! Big moves take time to process. Back to Dec 2024, we… ✨ Had a farewell in France & a welcome home in SA ☀️ Swapped Euro winter for Cape Town summer 👢→🩴 Traded boots for flip-flops 🏡 Left our tiny countryside cottage for a brand new (bigger!) home 🎄 Exchanged French Xmas markets for frantic unpacking a week before Xmas 🦞 Switched snowy Pyrenees & mulled wine for poolside crayfish & braais 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Kids reunited with family & friends for the first time in 18 months 🚗 Returned to Cape Town’s energy &… never ending traffic 😅 (after only 2 traffic jams in 18 months in rural Dordogne!) We’ve had to build routines from scratch, settle in, support our kids through big transitions, reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and rediscover our favourite places. It’s been beautiful, messy, and full of learning. We’ve been asked a lot about what it was like to live abroad, build a home remotely, and make a lifestyle move like this. We’ll be sharing more on that soon 🌍✨ In June/July kids school holiday we headed back to Dordogne for a visit to the home we left behind, the people we missed, and the life we loved. It was emotional, nostalgic and made us realise - home is where the heart is and our hearts will always be in both places. This month we finally had our house warming party - 12 months since we moved back. Making home takes time & we didn’t want to rush this. On the brink of 2026 we are so grateful for it all — the then, the now, and what’s still to come 💛 #LifeBetweenTwoCountries #FranceToSouthAfrica #FamilyAdventure #ExpatLife #HomeAndAway DordogneToCapeTown ReentryJourney Gratitude homeiswheretheheartis capetown southafrica france dordognevalley by @kashbergh

‘Chelsea in Bloom’ - the world class alternative floral art show transforms the streets of Chelsea in London every year for the last 20 years with breathtaking displays made of fresh flowers. Produced by Cadogan, in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), this annual competition continues to grow year on year, with Chelsea’s best retailers, restaurants and hotels adorning themselves with creative designs, competing for the awards. This year from 19-25 May alongside the world’s famous @rhschelsea flower show. As of this year South Africa has won a total of 39 gold medals at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show with many creative installations, highlighting our country’s dedication to showcasing its rich biodiversity, especially the unique flora of the Cape Floral Kingdom. The theme this year is ‘Flowers in Fashion’. Check it out if you are in London currently as it will blow your mind! My bestie and I were there exactly this time last year and fed our senses at no end! How beautiful are all these installations? #chelseainbloom #chelseainbloom2025 #chelseainbloom2025london #rhschelsea #rhschelseaflowershow2025 by @kashbergh
A month since we got back to #capetown and it’s time to start school. Slightly nervous, after 18 months’ break from their respective schools, but overall very excited off they went! London - my second home I’ve wondered a lot over the last few months how long one must live in a place to call it home…? I’m pretty sure it’s different for different people but for me it’s not so much about the length of time but the significance and the impact a place can have on your life. London was the first place I went to to practice my English (after many years of textbook education back in 🇵🇱). London was my first proper break into independence after living with my parents. London was university time and making friends for life. London was diversity of work. London was the place I travelled from to see so many corners of the world. London was a melting pot of cultures - I’ve never met so many nationalities as I have when I lived there. London was big love who took me to 🇿🇦 7 years later. I fell in love with London back in high school and this love has never quite ended. After almost 15 years of not being back I had a little glimpse of it back in May! During a couple of days there I barely scratched the surface. So I’m back for a second time and beaming with excitement. Head to my HIGHLIGHTS as I can’t wait to show you my London….❤️ In pictures: Gaucho Grill - my favourite steak house (Argentinian) in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 after some favs back home in SA 🇿🇦 Wagamama -Asian fusion meals for every pocket Covent Garden market -could browse around for hours Interactive installation just off Tottenham Court Road Oxford Street -high street shopping for the win West London love - Chelsea & South Ken especially during the flower show Kensington Palace gardens for a peaceful stroll Hyde Park walks/runs anytime Affordable Chinese and Thai reflexology places on every corner Soho anytime day and night - night out at Ronnie’s Jazz Club OXO tower roof top bar, overlooking Embankment and the Thames river, for drinks. #londonbound #travelingtolondon #londontime #londoniscalling #londonhasmyheart #livinginlondon #visitinglondon #londonlove #londonishome #thisislondon #londonhighlights #whattodoinlondon #londontrip by @kashbergh
Turning 7 is always a big deal! It’s a first year of primary school and kids feel so grown up ❤️ Lexi turning 7 was even a bigger deal as she started her second year in the primary school in France. Last year it was a week before her birthday when she started school and she didn’t know any children here yet. We celebrated but there was no big party so this year we totally made up for it with a birthday festival 😊 From taking sweet packs to school on her actual birthday to dinner with us and my dad who was visiting, to a mermaid pool party with all her friends. Lots of fun was had and we were grateful for the sun on the day with probably the last swims of the summer season. Thanks to everyone here who made it special and celebrated with us. Thanks to family and friends calling from everywhere! Little Miss Bergh is one lucky girl to have made great friends here who we will miss heaps when it’s finally time to head back home to 🇿🇦 (soon soon😉) Joyeux anniversaire notre petite chérie 🎉🥳🎁🎈🎊 #littlemissbergh #birthdayparty #turningseven #birthdaycelebrations #seventhbirthday #happybirthday #joyeuxanniversaire #kidsbirthday by @kashbergh
~My summer escapades~ A day in San Remo… From Menton on the French Riviera it’s roughly 45 mins taxi ride to San Remo, called the jewel of the Italian Riviera. We headed there for a day to meander around the old town part. Its narrow streets lined with colourful buildings & washing lines with fresh laundry floating from below the windows in a summery breeze. Eclectic combination of some beautiful architecture & the passage of time. The view from the top of the old town is great. San Remo is sea facing with lots of marinas, yachts & cruise liners. We also embraced ‘when in Italy’ vibes & did a pasta making course with Monica, booked via @viator It was fun, informative & delicious. We then headed out to see more of the town and had a drink at the Royal Hotel. We took a train back to Menton. The ride was pretty as it’s all around the coast and it wasn’t longer than an hour. A day well spent. #italianriviera #sanremo #euroholiday #italianrivieraholiday #holidayspots #euroholidayspots #italianrivieratowns #girlsholiday #girlsonholiday #eurosummervacay #eurosummer #italydestinations #italianholidays #dayinsanremo by @kashbergh
~My summer escapades~ When in Nice…. ☀️Walk along the Promenade des Anglais showcasing some of the best hotels and restaurants on the French Riviera on one side & sea facing day beach clubs on the other. ☀️Pop into one of the hotels to admire the incredible opulence. We headed to Negresco hotel. ☀️Check in to one of the beach clubs for the day. Prices for a sunbed & a towel vary between €30-60. We headed to Ruhl Plage. ☀️Order a Niçoise salad (direct translation: ‘in the style of Nice’) that was invented in Nice. Loved the big chunks of tuna that’s cured in a special way. ☀️Spend the rest of the day chilling at a beach club with some nifty tunes and swims in the warm Med water. And of course some bubbles for the win served by a friendly ‘garson’. #frenchriviera #frenchrivieraholiday #cotedazur #nice #holidayspots #frenchrivieratowns #girlsholiday #girlsonholiday #eurosummervacay #eurosummer #euroholiday #southofrance #dayinnice @frenchriviera.explore by @kashbergh
~My Summer Escapades ~ Beautiful Menton - the city of lemon…🍋 Kicked off my Euro summer mid May in the French Riviera. Heading there just before the summer season properly started was a great idea! It was pleasantly busy but not overcrowded while the weather was lovely and the sea water was warm! Plus a trip with three girlfriends (one of them my absolute bestie) was just what my soul needed ❤️ Menton in Cote D’Azur was our base and I very quickly got to love it the most. Here’s why: 🍋It’s the last town on the French Riviera after hustle & bustle of Cannes, Nice and Monaco. A lot more understated and relaxed. 🍋It’s called the Pearl of France - looking out over the blue of the Mediterranean Sea & with some truly unique views of colourful beach front buildings. 🍋It’s situated by the Italian boarder so there are many Italian influences in the local cuisine. The food was delicious all around! 🍋If like me you love lemons you’ll be in zesty heaven - from lemon inspired foods to best limoncellos I ever tasted & beautifully crafted artisan lemon themed products. TIP: A lot of fresh lemon inspired treats you can taste at Menton market - Marche Des Halles opened daily till 1pm. 🍋It has some beautiful architecture with the old town and Basilique Saint-Michel-Archange which overlooks the beachfront. 🍋You can literally walk or run (by the sea) from Menton to the Italian boarder and over to a little fishing village of Ventimiglia. 🍋Apparently it’s has 316 days of sunshine due to its unique micro climate with mild temperatures all year round so well worth a visit no matter the season. Our highlights: Bathing and sea swims at Plage des Sablettes Hike up to the viewing point by the local cemetery. Great views from the top! Visit to Marches des Halles on Saturday for indoor food market & outdoor market around it with clothes, accessories, jewellery & ceramics. Make sure to pop into Mitron Bakery, by a Michelin star chef Mauro Colagreco, famous for its artisanal breads & lemon goodies to sample. Restaurants: Cote Sud, Tony, UMI, Le 31. Head to my Menton highlights for more inspo. #frenchriviera #frenchrivieraholiday #cotedazur #menton #eurohols by @kashbergh
