All film sneak peek of M&S backyard chilliwack wedding.

A few highlights: fresh oysters & cocktails by the pool, cakes made by mom, a camcorder being passed around all night, 75+ origami cranes, getting to watch the hilarious talented chef and his staff work their magic.

One of MANY reasons I love backyard weddings is that people feel so comfortable it’s a relaxed environment where two people that haven’t met before can have a deep conversation or end the night on the dance floor together. A home is where memories are made.

And when you share your childhood home or current home with those you love every detail feels intentional and intimate. Inviting all the people you love, from different corners of the earth into a place you call home is so special to me.

Alexis is one of those brides that when you hear her vision you are so inspired because it feels very original and personal to her and her taste. She loves architecture, fashion & design & you can see that in almost every detail.

A tiny all film sneak peek of Alexis & Max’s day.

I cannot wait to share more- Alexis really thought through every detail wanting it to be unique, design oriented and non traditional (besides their beautiful Jewish ceremony). From reading their vows privately in Rae & Jerry’s- where they had their rehearsal dinner the night prior, to the big cage under her dress exaggerating the structure it was all so inspiring to capture.

Life is something we can never predict and man does it really surprise us. Thinking back to when I first met Monica in elementary school to now having photographed her wedding 6 weeks after having Wes, I don’t think I could have ever imagined this is what life would be like all these years later.

What a stunning bride Mon is inside and out- every detail was so thought out and beautifully executed. Something you’ll look back at and still absolutely love no matter how much time has passed.

Film from the baby shower came in & wow what a beautiful day it was- thank you so much to everyone who helped my vision come to life.

Endlessly supported, loved and celebrated by the people in our lives & it makes me so emotional. Baby boy could be here any day/week now & I know he will be so very loved.

What a year! I delivered 102 galleries which means I still have so much I need to share!

So endlessly thankful for everyone who trusted me and gave me the honour of observing and creating art from moments that unfolded in their life. I cannot wait to do it all again next year.

As my life takes on this new, scary but beautiful chapter (a little baby) - I am hoping to document more families on film and digital. My intuition tells me it’s something I need to tap into more & I’m excited to see what can grow from watering those seeds 🌱 (while also of course shooting weddings). by @kassdonaldson

Annie and Chris celebrated their day in her parents backyard- I may be bias because Gabe and I had our wedding in my grandparents backyard but something about having your wedding in a place you have so many of your childhood memories, makes me emotional!

The day consisted of rain, clouds, sun and then a big downpour to end it off. The planner Connie from @harloweventswpg really rolled with all the punches and made everything so beautiful. This is why I will say always hire a planner! As you can tell everyone really had so much fun and were in the best spirits even while It rained!

Some more details from this amazing day. This season has been really busy and a little overwhelming but I’m so grateful to be doing what I do, it’s a privilege Ill never take for granted. To be able to connect with not only so many genuine people but also vendors, it’s something special.

What a day! After doing weddings now for 10 years (crazy!) I can honestly say that this day was the sickest I have ever been at a wedding, I drove home that night with no voice but man oh man was it worth it. I was shooting digital, film and super 8mm and I truly couldn’t have done it without @tmaricphotos help she’s the best.

There are so many things I’ll never forget about this day but the thing I think that will forever make me emotional is that Janessa’s grandpa literally relearned to walk just to walk her down the aisle- if that doesn’t make you a little emotional idk what will.

Janessa & Houston’s day is the perfect example of how thought out intentional design and details really are so impactful. Everything was “simple”, timeless and elegant. Chefs kiss.

Bri & Jeremy took the afternoon slow, getting ready with their sweet girls- the first place crackled, the air crisp and the rain tapping the leaves. Everything was at their own pace, friends and family started to show up for a quick ceremony and dinner under a tent- it was the perfect fall wedding. by @kassdonaldson

Toni & Niko- I’ve been obsessed with them for so long, not only are they the nicest people you’ll ever meet but they are so cool, artistic and stylish.
When they asked me to shoot their day I was beyond excited, I knew they would make their day so unique to them and that’s what really gets me inspired, they really made their day a reflection of who they are and what they enjoy.
They already had their attire all moodboarded out- vintage pieces (Niko has a vintage store @outer.piece ), an all lace veil & a custom overlay dress made by @hello_darling_co. - the looks were phenomenal. All complimented so well by the vibrant, amazing florals.
We did a first look, private vows, small city hall courtyard ceremony and then an evening of pizza, beer and laughs with their friends and family.
