Signed up 2 weeks before the race not really knowing what I was getting myself into. I had only started running 3 months ago, and the furthest I had ever run was 10 miles, (6 days before lol) so jumping into a half marathon felt a little crazy. But I wanted to challenge myself and see what I was capable of.

From the first mile to the last, it was a constant battle. My legs were hurting, my mind kept trying to convince me to stop, and there were plenty of moments where I questioned why I signed up in the first place. But I kept reminding myself that I came this far for a reason.

This race taught me that running is just as much mental as it is physical. It wasn’t pretty, and it definitely wasn’t easy, but I kept moving forward. Three months ago, I couldn’t have imagined myself completing a half marathon, and now it’s something nobody can take away from me.

Crossing that finish line made every tough mile worth it. Proud of myself for taking the chance, trusting the process, and getting it done. Onto the next challenge. 🤝🏽🏃🏽‍♂️
