Our main man! Being loved by him is another proof of God’s love. Faithful and steady. Our babies will always be able to say the same of him as well. I watch him everyday try to be better than he was the day before. And those aren’t simply cute words. They are intentions, conversations, and actions made by a humble man who wants nothing more than to be the best for his family. He has always been the best in my eyes. It’s not everyday as a mama + daddy of 5 that you just get to shoot down to the beach with your oldest and have an easy breezy little trippy. Jackson attended QB 🏈 camp and we made a whole romantic getaway of it at the beach kid-free 😎
Life has been moving so fast lately and it was a perfectly timed pause button in the midst of everything to just breathe. As someone who used to share tons of pics, I’ve barely been taking any. Idk if it’s good to just enjoy the moments or bad to have little to show for it 🙃 This is what I got 📸 by @kassie.collier

When the coach pulls you aside and says, “lead us to victory”, and the night ends with a big WIN!!
Last week’s game was so fun to watch and tonight is playoff #2 - win or go home.
I never saw Jackson becoming a competitive athlete, and he didn’t realize his love for football until middle school. But love for the game turned into a passion to play.
To be a starting quarterback as a sophomore is a great privilege and honor, but it didn’t come with any favoritism or luck. Pure heart and talent, but mostly relentless drive, is how this came to be. Proving himself over and over again with little slack. It has been a learning experience for my boy to take on the pressure of Friday night lights. It has been a character building opportunity to know not everyone is rooting for you in your given role. It has been humbling to try and lead upperclassmen who need you to prove that you are confident and also a team player.

I’m a fully aware mama in the stands as I cheer on #14. I see all of these things. There have surely been moments where I’ve wanted to interject myself as many parents do.

But we’ve decided that this is Jackson’s gig. We are proud of how he handles himself both on and off the field.
Our gig is to cheer him on and encourage him to hold his head high.
Regardless of how this game ends, I applaud Jackson’s dedication to his craft, grace in adversity, and mental strength under the pressure of it all.

Sixteen 🥲

I’m so late posting his pics birthday because I’m still trying to accept the fact that my boy is so big 😢 Just over here simultaneously smiling and crying like a psycho.

Once upon a time, we were Thomas the Train obsessed and I swore he was going to become a Paleontologist because nothing was more interesting than dinosaurs 🤣 He had them all memorized by name.

A few years later, we were swimming in legos and building forts outside with the brothers.

And then, just like that, he drove away from home all on his own for the first of many times in Papa’s truck 🥹

I’d give anything to go back and hold this baby boy.

In the last year, Jackson has taught himself guitar! It has become his favorite pastime besides football. I’m not sure why we didn’t build a soundproof room for all of these instrument loving boys bc it’s a nonstop musical over here 🤣

He has put in so many hours working towards his goal of quarterback and his striving through the challenges is inspiring.

The way he asks his siblings about their day once he gets home, now drives Deacon to youth, sings and plays guitar with Cam, takes Gus to catch crawdads when he asks, and holds Scout like she is his melts. me. on the daily.

He is entering sophomore year with a 3.9 GPA and tackling many honors classes.

And that wraps up the birthday boy’s latest happenings 💙

We have relished all the birthday celebrations over the last month with friends and family. Last birthday was filled with pain and heaviness as one of his best friends was in the hospital fighting for his life. This year, Mathias was BACK and ready to celebrate life 🫶🏻 Gave me chills to watch them swimming in the pool!
