When we opened the founding creator & shopper cohort, I didn’t know how quickly it would fill. We limited it intentionally, not to create artificial scarcity, but because the founding cohort isn’t just signups. It’s the group of people who will actually help shape what Kassie becomes. Nothing humbles you faster than watching real people use what you built 👀 Today some creators and shoppers jumped onto the KASSIE prototype. The question every style creator should be asking themselves right now…. It’s not “how do I get more followers?” It’s not “how do I get brand deals?” It’s this: Am I building something that earns or something that performs? There’s a real difference. Performing is creating content for an audience that might turn into income eventually, maybe, if a brand notices, if the algorithm cooperates, if the rates are right. Earning is having a system where every post you publish has the potential to generate income directly, regardless of whether a brand calls. A brand founder DM’d me last week: “We don’t have R20,000 for a post. We have R2,000 and we need it to actually convert.” That message is the whole reason KASSIE exists. The maths doesn’t work the way brands want you to think it does. 10,000 disengaged followers who don’t trust you = R0 in actual influence. 500 loyal followers who buy everything you recommend = real, trackable earning power. The entire creator economy was built on the wrong metric. Brands pay for reach. But reach doesn’t convert on its own. Trust does. And trust has nothing to do with your follower count. It has to do with whether people act on your recommendations. I’ve spoken to SA creators with under 5,000 followers whose audiences buy everything they post about. I’ve seen accounts with 80,000 followers whose product links get zero clicks. The number is a vanity metric. The trust is the real asset. Kassie doesn’t care how many followers you have.
