We’re excited to present the first glimpse of our music program. From live sets to DJs; familiar faces, to artists joining us for the first time. Here’s the first wave of artists coming together this March.

For un:send 2027, we’ll be convening at the new location of Bookaar, Victoria on the traditional lands of the Djargurd Wurrong people. Some of you may recognise this familiar and formative site, but for those who don’t, imagine the haunting beauty of grassy volcanic plains rich with thousands of years of Indigenous agricultural history.

It’s a great honour to be blessed with this site, and it has brought us lots of childlike glee. We’re looking to capture those feelings of firsts, like discovering toys or learning something new. In the spirit of that, we’ve devised a playground of imagination for our next instalment, showcasing a wide spectrum of music styles, local artists in various formats and an array of local food and drink offerings.

We invite you not just to look, but to sense, to feel, and to discover.

We welcome you to a new site, a formative valley, dancing together under a full moon for three days and nights.

For our next edition we’ve been thinking about the joy that comes with building from the ground up, and harnessing our inner child so you can too.

This week emotional reset playlist with @kasun_ 🙂‍↕️

What inspired this track selection ? All of the tracks here have been on a constant rotation for me for the last four months. At the start of this year I was working my way through some major burn-out and music like this is what helped me to feel centred and within myself again. It’s sort of positive-emo stuff that looks ahead.

I think this playlist reflects well the type of pop realm that I like to seat myself into when I’m taking some time to lounge at home and spend a few relaxed hours cooking dinner which is one my favourite ways to meditate.

Who’s track selection would you be most curious to see and why ?
I’d love to see what Beatrice M.’s playlist would look like. I love hearing the way that they talk about music and think they’d have a super interesting thread in a home setting.

Any new projects you’d like to talk about ?
My major project is un:send festival which I co-founded with Kia Sydney. Together with Dylan Batelic, Lauren Squire and Matt Wilson, we’ve run two incredible editions now and running off that high we’re already into planning the next one. I’m feeling super inspired right now and can’t wait to build and create. by @kasun_

Sinhala and Tamil New Year was a few days ago! The new year celebrates the sun’s transition from Pisces to Aries and is a time to reflect, acknowledge, connect, grow and move forward 🦚

I was lucky to be in Sri Lanka last month for a short couple weeks and it felt so grounding to be home after so long. The smells, sound, light all felt like a warm hug. I love being Sri Lankan 🌞

Our once-annual super-collab: Animalia x Temporal Cast, returns at the end of the month, for a very special celebration at our favourite home-base, Miscellania - with two dear friends from across the globe.

Guadalajara based producer/ DJ, Andy Martin will be gracing Miscellania for his Australia debut, a timely premiere ahead of his imminent Animalia EP. The dub-techno wizard is known for mixing up sci-fi techno & Latin Caribbean Sounds with a futuristic edge. Think psychedelic broken rhythms, tribal sounds, and dub influences from his Mexican/ Jamaican heritage.
His most recent album “Antiguos Astronautas” is a musical exploration between the sounds of
techno and native american futurism and his upcoming Animalia release is a fascinating interpretation of the label’s identity via Mexican mythology.

Joining Andy will be the prolific UK born, Amsterdam based, Pariah. A DJ known for both an insanely wide range & absolute precision, noted via his inescapably classic productions, “such as 2022’s Caterpillar”. Pariah’s music is a memorable swirl of ideas and influences that feels eternally in-progress, waiting for the right collaborators, contexts and crowds to cohere and inspire with rare impact. His label VOAM, co-run alongside Blawan, has become one of dance music’s most well-regarded labels.

This epic international duo will be supported by Animalia & Temporal Cast’s respective bosses, Kia (b2b the master of groove & dub, Lolo), and Kasun; and local queen Monique Tya who’s knack for weaving between bass, techno, IDM and everything in between will tie the evening together in the perfect celebratory bow 🎀

So excited to have all of these incredible artists perform for us at Cam’s Kiosk this evening.

For me, the connecting thread between them all is that their music feels like being guided through the depths of an unknown forest by a trusted friend. Feelings of uncertainty and misunderstanding turn into intrigue and confidence; letting you turn inwards to find the trust in both yourself and from those around you. You will make it to the grassy field on the other side. 🌬️🍃

We ran out of time to celebrate our tenth birthday, so come join us next week for our eleventh :~)

A Friday evening of absorbing, imaginative downtempo and chill out, in the beautiful courtyard of Cam’s Kiosk, Abbotsford Convent.

Following the lauded release of his debut album Ephemera Danish producer, Fergus Jones, returns to our side of the world for a live outdoor performance of the music which earned spots in album of the year lists, art magazine articles, and much loved music blogs all over the world. Shimmering yet precise. @perkopair
