Such a great day trip to Seattle with the sisters to start Mom’s 90th birthday celebration which culminates next Saturday.

We did Seattle’s Giant Wheel. (Or whatever it is called), and “Wings Over Washington” which is like “Soarin’” at Disney’s California Adventure… then found ourselves at “Hudson” on HWY 99 for a late lunch. by @kat.warren

Guess what we did today. … by @kat.warren

It has been a tough 2+ weeks… The grief process has been so interesting (sorry my analytical mind goes on)… while I miss my biggest boy… I realize I can’t expect Jack to be Cobee… I have watched Jack adjust to Cobee’s absence also… learning to ask for himself, rather than communicate for his brother… for potty time, and for snacks…

Jack has his moment to be an only dog… I know he feels Cobee’s absence too…. And he too is learning navigate this new reality. by @kat.warren

A certain part of the yard has been the Bain of my summer. I have spent hours upon hours digging out blackberry and horse hair TWICE this summer… and going into fall, it was back. I just couldn’t. So… spread cardboard over it yesterday and 3 inches of mulch over the area today. I knew we needed mulch… hopefully it will help tame the area over the winter… looks way better too.

You can look at our yard and determine my most frustrating areas by fresh mulch… at least for a bit. lol.

We spread 40 bags of 1.5 cf today. At least 3 times that needed to finish. 🫪 by @kat.warren

This photo was taken almost 11 years ago, 1 week after we adopted our sweetest, biggest boy.

Cobee was a lover. He would dive his head and almost do a somersault for those he loved. We called these, “Cobee loves”… these were reserved for the crème de la creme… which was me, daddy, Grammy and a few others…

After reviewing 11 years of photos, I am more at ease about our decision.. which we of course didn’t doubt in the moment, but always second guess after… I am confident he is at rest and running free. But, I miss him all the time. by @kat.warren

I have been painting…. Mom mentioned after Cobee was gone, how my husband (bless his heart) was the only one on Christmas Eve who addressed the loss of her dog… I had been planning something, but somehow it got lost in daily life… Note to self… just because someone is not crying on the phone, they need acknowledgement and support, at least the effort to express sympathy for their loss. So embarrassed that I missed this. #memorialstones by @kat.warren

I took my first quilting class this past week. It was a “quilt as you go” project. I still need to do the binding… it was fun. I used the sewing machine I got from my mom which was top of the line 27 years ago, now vintage.. (but my prior was waaaaay more vintage). It’s not quite done as I need to do the binding and hanging loop. It was a great distraction. by @kat.warren
