My most frequently asked question: “how did you start your wine company?” 🍷🧐

✨ Here’s the answer ✨

I started network marketing FIRST and once I had decided the business owner life was for me & I had learned the skills I needed, I went for it.

I recommend network marketing to everyone who thinks they might want to run a business - it’s the best almost free business school there is & if you think selling a pre made product with an entire system to back you up is “hard”… the real business world may not be for you 😅🙈

On the other hand if you thrive 🌱 (like I did) and think “this is ridiculously easy” - take the money you earn & the business skills you learn & reinvest them back into your new venture.

The beauty of network marketing is you can earn a substantial income - AND - build your own business at the same time. As long as you’re consistent, disciplined, organized and hard working, you really can have it all 💸

My entire wine company has been self funded by my network marketing income, skills & experience. And if I can get to the top of a network marketing company AND build a successful startup, so can you ✨

A well resourced woman is the first to give back to others 🎤

I spent the last year speaking to hundreds of female founders in ecommerce & one thing was increasingly obvious - they feel alone.

Alone behind a computer. Alone wondering what that data set means. Alone, in an echo chamber, without perspective or understanding of what our economy is doing. Of where they have to pivot. Pull back. Go harder. Alone wondering - "am I good enough?"

When well resourced women come together - they share.

Share experiences, contacts, insights, thoughts & beliefs. Without judgement, they share what's working & what's not in the hope that the woman sitting on the other side of the table will thrive.

In a world increasingly disconnected & distracted, sharing - immediate, relevant, honest, truthful insights - is more important than ever.

Thank you to @dooneroisin @femalestartupclub and @omnisend for hosting this event, and, for asking me to share my experience as a panelist.

Sitting next to icons @lykapetfood @contourcube and @bronte_campbell was an absolute honour.

It's not often I actively speak out about my opinions on business, but when asked - and given a mic - you know you're going to get some truth bombs lol

As I famously said to the women in the room - "hands up if you're over the warm & fuzzies?". Ladies, don't ever be afraid to attack wealth, success, and growth without apology.

Not every business is built for "the feels". Some are built to solve problems. Or to make noise. Or to simply, change the way things have always been done & make it better.

Seeing everyone's posts & takeaways I'm happy that I was the girl who told everyone & gave permission to lean into THEIR strengths & run at your mission in a way only you can.

Be the blueprint. Do it your way.

The "how" matters just as much, if not more, than the end goal. Enjoy it. Life is short, and business can be very, very long.

Anyone who's managed to hang on this long - with everything going on in Australia right now - has all my respect.

When your sister writes a book, attention must be paid 👏

This truly is a “it was always in the cards” moment. Bori was always “the” book girl as a kid. Teased for reading. More interested in books than people. ALWAYS with a book in her hand.

I wish that little girl could have known that one day, all those people could suck it - because she would be a published author & it would all make sense.
