i don't want the world without you it's been four months since my dad passed away. four months of waking up into a grey and heavy world. four months of balling my eyes out to Rosalia's new album. four months since holding his hand for the last time and seeing him take his last breath. 18 months since finding out about my dad's terminal cancer. they were giving him 2 weeks of life, but he stayed with us for over a year. oh i am so insanely grateful for that year. sooo grateful. we didn't have the smoothest relationship since my teens but the last year i will cherish forever. we restored our relationship into a completely different, very caring one. he became such a big part of my life as only a parent can. i got to walk him down the aisle. he was holding up so well for so many months i even thought one day he might even walk me down the aisle, too. but the fate or universe or whatever had a different plan. i don't think i can describe what the last weeks before he left felt like. to witness your parent die and be present the whole process of it. one would think the year of knowing would prepare you for it... you're literally willing to give anything in the world to save him but it's not enough, there's no cure, no solution. and he knows, he knows he's dying. the most challenging thing i've ever had to do was to be strong for him. to tell him he can go whenever he needs to. to tell him it's okay. but it's not okay. it never was okay. it feels like a bad dream. i feel like a different person since the day he left. like a piece of me is missing. there's a hole in my heart and it's not filling up. it's like i can't exist properly without that missing part. grief is so heavy, i've never understood the depth of it until feeling it every minute with every part of my body and soul. im so glad we had some time to say goodbye. but i wish we had gotten much more. so much more. i hope i'll get to hug you again. i miss you so much, tati. by @kataskorepova

ups and downs, but mostly downs. ups are only ups because they feel less heavy than the downs. your absence is too loud. blindly going through the day hoping it will end soon, hoping i'll fall asleep and then wake up from this horrible dream. but don't worry dad, i've been taken care of, thankfully accompanied by the best people. i miss you so much though, i hope i'll be able to hug you again. by @kataskorepova
