My dad could be described by many words, but the first I think of is the most kind hearted person. Marky Mo was truly the most positive, kind, warm, caring person who left that impact on anyone he met.
I am so blessed to be his daughter, and even more honored to carry on his legacy of kindness, positivity, and joy. I will spend my whole life inspired by his level of care in everything he did & towards everyone he met.
My dad and I are so similar in endless ways and could make each other laugh doing anything. We would take turns grabbing handfuls of chocolate chips from the pantry any chance we could. Many nights were spent dancing and singing around the kitchen together with “Mark Mo Music”, his playlist, blasting on the speakers. We said our father daughter dance song at my wedding one day would definitely be to love story by taylor swift. Growing up, he always made sure I was tucked into bed, had on a pair of socks in the cold and always suggested a hat (especially when it wasn’t necessary), made sure I knew to shake a handful of cashews before eating them (as they’re “shakeables”). Dad would drive me to school everyday, always eating peanut butter toast with blueberries, sometimes even having me hold the steering wheel just to make us laugh. He made sure I encountered every single person with grace, a smile, and genuine kindness, no matter who they were. Everything I am is because of you and mom, Dad.
My whole life, he told my brothers and I inspirational quotes; he loved them!! In his last days, he told all of us one thing: “Go Be Great”. He said to not make losing him a negative thing, but to take it so we live the fullest life with a lot of laughter, love, and joy. That says everything about him. He fought a battle each day, stronger than anyone. Cancer, you didn’t win - my dad beat you every single day and won because now he’s eternally his true spirit, something you could never take away. “i’ll always be with you. i’ll always be here. I’ll never leave you. we’ve always had a special bond”. Your golden spirit will live on through me Daddy Mo!!!! I will miss you everyday, and live my life for you.
