Hi! My name is Kate and I am from Greensboro, NC. I am 99.9% committed to NC State on a pre-PA track, majoring in Biological Sciences (IPN concentration) and minoring in Psychology. My senior thesis investigates the question, “How do we use dreams to escape reality?” This piece explores the connections between childhood reverie and imagination. Even as I grow older, I find myself counting sheep to avoid confronting the real world.

Maladaptive daydreaming is the act of immersing oneself in a fantasy, often to cope with stress or escape the mundane. The subject imagines herself in a space untouched by obligation and responsibility, using dreams as a temporary refuge. by @kate.nd23
