Just a snippet of our trip to Montenegro with Adventure Yogi.
Endless sunsets from our yoga retreat balcony, a hike into the quiet hills, many swims in the warm water, a trip to Kotor, where I might have encouraged a few to climb the many steps to the high up fortress, ice creams, new friends, lots of fun and giggles, plus Colin wanting to adopt a donkey called Frank 🤣
Fantastic teaching from @helen_turrell took us through flows, yin and perfect adjustments to come away from the retreat with new enthusiasm.
Our bellies were kept full and nourished with delicious and sustaining vegetarian food from lovely @taniarisc We've been inspired to add more plant based dishes to our food and my homemade energy balls have already benefited from a subtle suggestion 😀
Montenegro you were a delight, including a couple of nights in Perast to finish where we enjoyed meals by the water and far too much amazingly fresh seafood. taken in Luštica by @kate.p.73

Haven't managed a new parkrun/lido day trip for a while, but a change in weekend plans meant we could visit the relatively new Abbot's Wood parkrun along with a trip to @saltdeanlido on their last Saturday of the summer season 😀
Abbots Wood was a delightful run in a gorgeous forest. A bit undulating at times but dappled shade made for a pleasant September pootle. The coffee van after with smiley staff kickstarted the energy levels again.
Then on to Saltdean for the 10-1345 general swim. 4 lanes were still available, despite it being a family session and I had one to myself. I couldn't stop smiling at the pure beauty of the place. Love a bit of Art Deco.
We had a great brunch in the cafe afterwards, served by friendly staff. So glad for a change in plans!

It's all about the water 😍😎

I've had some cracking Lido swims after parkrun over the past few weeks including Hillingdon (Uxbridge) and Abbey Meadows (Abingdon) plus another visit to local Hilsea for a swim/sauna. Clients have let me use their swimming pools and Hayling Island sea swimming conditions are a toasty 20c+ at the moment.

But this morning is was all about the cold @plnge_uk 😂 What a fantastic start to a Saturday morning, even if it did mean a 5am alarm for their 6am session at Langstone. The tide was perfectly half way in to enjoy looking out on from the sauna window. A perfect combo of 10c cold plunge water and then into the 90c sauna and repeat x 3. Under the guidance of the lovely Kat and post plnge goodies made by Sophie. So good I tried them all 😋
Highly recommend it!

Got to visit 3 fantastic community run lidos in Devon this week during their lane swimming sessions.
First up @boveytraceyswimming with its amazing mosaics made by local artists and children.
2nd up @moreton_pool l powered by solar panels and a little oasis tucked behind a hedge in town.
Last up @chudleighpool in the school grounds, perfect after a hot walk.
All a bargain between £5-6 for an hours slot, friendly staff/volunteers, heated to 26-28c, 20 or 25m in length and easy to book online.
Sadly I didn't get to lovely @chagfordpool as they had an issue with water quality but it looked a lovely spot driving past on the way home 😀

This week has not been a sea swimming week, thanks to the weather and discharges, so decided last night to book into a swim/sauna slot with my swim pal at my now local Hilsea Lido. The staff are lovely and the music they play gives a great vibe. The sauna after a cool swim is divine.

Today I returned to Rushmoor parkrun, with the excuse of visiting Aldershot Lido. I was the only one there with about 13 lifeguards. They were all lovely and indulged me by opening up the slides after my swim 🤣 About 5 of them had to be strategically placed around the pool for health and safety reasons, but we had a giggle 😃
Water was about 17c. Another one ticked off in The Lido Guide 😍

Double Lido swim weekend 😍
Yesterday I went with my gorgeous friend @2cheekbones to @hilsea.lido for a swim and a sauna.
A bargain at £12 for an hours slot. They've done a great job renovating it and the staff are lovely.
I was lucky enough to go with @solentoutdoorswimmers for a pre opening swim visit a few weeks back, but this was the first since their official opening on 2nd May.
Mental note for next time. Less chatting beforehand = more swim/sauna time 🤣
Shame it was raining after, so we didn't stick around for coffee. Next time 😄
Water 16.9c. Sauna 80c. Lush!

When your birthday falls on a Saturday, what's to do?
A parkrun with a lido visit of course 😍
Up at the crack of dawn to get to the Cotswolds for #chippingnortonschoolparkrun A mix of playing fields and community woodland.
Then across the field to the delightful Chippy Lido. A real community feel, 29c water 25m length and popular on a Saturday morning.

Another parkrun/open water pool day trip today 😍
Having not run in 2 weeks (yes I'm a snotty snotbag) East Brighton parkrun felt a bit of a wheezy struggle. But fun nonetheless, with elevated numbers thanks to the marathon taking place tomorrow.

We then wondered along the seafront down to Brighton Sea Lanes. It's been on my to do list for a while and didn't disappoint.
50m and 19.9c water. I'm used to a 25m pool, so despite wondering where the end was on a few laps, it was easy to ramp up the distance. Pretty chuffed with 1k of front crawl, stopping for a breather once in a while 😍
Good, clean facilities and run by the same company as our soon to be open Hilsea Lido.
Lovely Cafe Fika next door for brunch 😋
Into Brighton for a bimble around, then Stanmer Park in search of elusive bluebells.
Bit knackered now!

Another parkrun/Lido trip out today to Wycombe Rye. The parkrun started in front of the Lido 😍 Awesome!
The swim included use of the sauna 😍 Extra awesome!
Not a bad day for the end of March.

Solo swim off Hayling Beach today. When it's like this in March, it's got to be done!
Water 10.2c. Air temp probably a bit less.
#beachbumsup and #zone3 kit kept the chills at bay.

Another Saturday. Another parkrun adventure! Having not run for 2 weeks, choosing a rather hilly and very muddy venue might have been a less than wise choice, but Church Mead was a delight. Great volunteers, lovely views through the mist and Old Amersham was gorgeous to walk around afterwards. Ourdough Bakery is definitely worth a visit!

It was also only 10 minutes from Chesham Moor Lido 😍 What a wonderful place. Spring fed water maintained at 27c and only 3 of us swimming in the midday hour slot. Had the added delight of watching a Red Kite circling just above the pool whilst I was swimming backstroke.

Great facilities and I got more info from one of the helpful lifeguards on other swim spots/parkruns to do in the area 😀
