Nothing makes me happier than wrapping principal photography on our epic indie short film and then immediately grounding my ass in my creative community

Bringing my bones to the earth and letting them rest.

Breathing deep into every cell. Every muscle. Every tissues.

Being guided by breath instead of the mind.

it’s true. I wrapped @thepearlshortfilm and hopped on a plane to see my sister @cemmaterry in the wilds of New Mexico.

So good for the spirit.

Felt so good to stretch my wings and fly the coop one last time before I go underground to bring baby number two earthside.

I’ll be unpacking everything over on Substack over the next couple weeks.

So much revealed in the portals of creation and transition.

We still can’t believe we made a movie last week. 😭

Not gonna lie, we are still in a deep post-shoot comedown.

Feels like a dream!

Day 2 of shooting @thepearlshortfilm and I never want it to end.

BEST CREW
BEST TALENT
BEST MUSIC
BEST STORY

I’m taking a moment to thank myself for not giving up.

If you know, you know that the industry has been absolute trash since 2020 and I got my heart royally broken in the wreckage of it all.

For a while there… acting seemed exhausting to me. It seemed silly and pointless and indulgent.

And so I went and lived some life. Moved across the country. Had a baby. Stopped singing and playing guitar for a solid 2 years. A dark time. But a necessary part of the process.

This story by @elitiadaniels brought me back to life, and gave me something solid to throw my ass behind.

Tomorrow is our last day in this incarnation of @thepearlshortfilm and I really wish you could feel the energy. And see the sweat of all of us gathering in real time and space, on a scrappy little budget to make something fresh and real and honest and human.

It’s just so so good.

And I’ll never take this experience for granted. 🫶🏻
