Got it done last night at @finishers_subonly going almost all 3 rounds in the CJI format with a kneebar in the final.I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match going in, I have a ton of respect for Sharon and I think we both showed some cool shit and really put it all on the mat. I won the @finishers_subonly open as a blue belt back in 2019 (I accidentally said 2018 in my interview, whoops), have been on the card a bunch since then and am happy to be able to get to this point to have an achievement in the greater cinematic Finishers Universe.Thank you to my team @graciephilly my coach Brian Rago and great friend @tracypoops for putting together a last minute camp, my Tuesday @balancemma ladies and my brand new husband @stephenperagallo for being my competition coach yet again. This motherfucker told me to shut up about feeling tired and jog out there for my last round.I have been obsessively playing Shin Megami Tensei: Vengeance and in reflection can compare this match to my experiences battling bosses in the game. Gotta weather the storm, wait for buffs to run their course, sacrifice some party members (1 party member sacrifice is equivalent to the amount of times I had to go to turtle or get smashed from quarter guard), and then unleash the Magatsuhi gauge to finish the battle. 🥉 At No Gi Worlds this weekend in Vegas, having a bye and going 1-1. Won by armbar my first match and lost by points by second. More to work on! Overall I feel like I represented my jiujitsu well and that it is worthy of the world stage after being able to perform well at pans.
