Sunflowers, summer, and one of those perfectly New England afternoons.

We visited Buttonwood Farm yesterday for their Make-A-Wish sunflower picking, and it was every bit as beautiful as you’d hope. Fields of sunflowers, country views, and such a sweet summer tradition.

They’re open daily from 10–8, and the special Make-A-Wish sunflower event runs through July 26.

Yesterday we made our way to Celebrate New London and there was something special happening everywhere we looked.

Vendors, food trucks, creative stations, live music, street dancing, and artists doing their thing right on Bank Street. We spent some time at @spark_makers, helped build a boat, and wandered through a downtown that felt completely transformed for the day.

We didn’t make it to the fireworks, but honestly, we packed so much into the day that it still felt like a full celebration.

Today marked 250 years, and despite the heavy or complicated feelings out there in the current climate, our little Stonington Borough community showed up in a massive way. Parking this year was a mission because the streets were packed, but that’s the magic of this place. Snuggled in the Borough, every minute of it feels significant. From the reading of the Declaration of Independence to the complimentary ice cream afterward at Mathews Park, it's days like today that remind me just how lucky we are to be a part of this community. taken in Southeastern Connecticut by @katealways_creative

Mystic Pride at MMoA 🌈

The whole day had such joyful, welcoming energy. The performances were amazing, Bleach was incredible, the vendors brought so much creativity, and the little details (rainbow popsicles, bubbles, people showing up as themselves) made it feel really special.

I’m so glad I got to be part of the volunteer committee and meet some truly wonderful people along the way. Days like this are such a good reminder of how powerful community can feel when everyone comes together with love, creativity, and acceptance. taken in Mystic Museum of Art by @katealways_creative

I found one of my first little Instagram “movies” from June 23, 2013, and honestly… it tracks.

Before Reels, before content strategy, before I had the words for what I was doing, I was already trying to capture the feeling of a place.

A drink. The water. The bridge. A quick pan of Portsmouth being Portsmouth.

Now I live in Mystic.

Different town, same kind of pull: water, history, restaurants, boats, movement, atmosphere.
