@lanceopp’s Primetime. We had the pleasure of doing additional casting on this one and can’t wait to see it in theaters soon! Always an honor to be a small part of projects like this with such incredible talent. by @kateantognini
THE DRAMA by Kristoffer Borgli, starring Zendaya & Robert Pattinson. Releases April 3, 2026. by @kateantognini
As the year comes to a close, I feel incredibly grateful for the chance we’ve had to connect with the Chinese American community in New York, from the strangers who stopped to speak with us on the street, to the hundreds of elders and young people who lined up for our in person open call, to the tens of thousands who submitted online. It’s been amazing to be welcomed with real warmth into a deeply rooted community. Been sitting on these photos for a while. Last summer we spent weeks doing the Atlanta street casting for Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia, and it truly felt like a dream. Atlanta never stops surprising me with how many effortlessly cinematic people you pass on the street every day. Very grateful to the filmmakers behind this gorgeous film for trusting us with this opportunity. Couldn’t have done it without the scouting, support and hard work of my incredible team including @stellatompkins_ @hunterrmarrs @skinsoot by @kateantognini
Got to cast this last month for @feliciathegoat and @instagram and bring together a group of insanely talented young artists. Grateful to witness the magic they brought and to hear Tyler’s sharp, funny, unpredictable takes. Watching this kind of authentic exchange, where one artist genuinely invests in the next generation, was something special. Full video on youtube. ‘Tendaberry’, more scouting & casting by @kateantognini
The Brighton Beach neighborhood is an enclave of people who fled eastern Europe and Eurasia when the Soviet Union collapsed. It’s home to Russians, Ukrainians, Georgians, as well as many other ethnic communities. This was the backdrop of two years of scouting in an attempt to portray a cross section of South Brooklyn in Haley Elizabeth Anderson’s ‘Tendaberry’, set to premiere at Sundance in a few days. We met so many beautiful people who each deserve their own film. What drew me to working with Haley is that she depicts her subjects with humanity. In her work, you never feel an outsider’s gaze, which I think is due to her being such a great listener. Haley also has a great respect for the casting process because she started as a scout herself working for Terrence Malick. Here are some of our favorite scouting and casting finds. (Congratulations to the incredible team behind this film! Can’t wait to see @kota_johan and @stellatompkins_ @e_ttg and many more in their big screen debuts!) by @kateantognini
