Part 2 (still can’t fit it all) but here’s some of the earlier part of the trip and some of the churches in Quito. The craftsmanship in Quito was astonishing, and the fact that the animals seem to be completely unbothered by humans being 2 feet from them was also a very interesting experience. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in going. Now that I’m back, my new goal is to keep practicing until I’m fluent in Spanish, wish me luck! #TripofaLifetime by @katebates92

This is a bit of a late post since Aunt Terrie did a beautiful day by day recap of our amazing trip to the Galapagos at the end of June, but wanted to share some of the highlights of our trip (and the 1400 photos and videos we took lol.) Every single day was filled with hiking, nature lessons, bird watching, snorkeling, learning Spanish, drawing, exploring, lots of eating, and most importantly, not really paying attention to my phone. This was definitely the trip of a lifetime, so part 2 to follow for 20 more pictures!

About a month late, but have unsurprisingly been busy with projects to get everything up to par. I am beyond blessed and grateful for my family, friends, and Rocky who have listened to me talk about purchasing my grandmother’s house for years and years (and also for those same people helping make it a reality.) I hope to share starting soon, all of the projects we do to make it our own, but even more importantly I hope to make many new and happy memories in this house to match the old ones I have from gramma and papa. This trip to Georgia was an absolute rollercoaster but the highest point of which was for sure that Rocky proposed! He was able to do it in the mostly perfectly “us” way at my favorite spot in our woods with just the two of us. So naturally I had to make him shower and change to go recreate it and snap some pics with papa’s old tractor in our spot. Party planner Ron has apparently been keeping the secret for a while so he was ready with steaks, crab claws, cake, and party hats for him and the Dirty Boyz. (I wouldn’t let him shoot off the fireworks he brought since we haven’t had rain and I couldn’t handle a forest fire too 😂.) It meant the world to me that Rocky let me know afterward, that he was able to show the ring to my gramma earlier this year before she passed and I swear I saw more butterflies this trip than I have ever seen in Georgia. I’m so grateful for him and everyone who is always so supportive of me and us ❤️
