Coastal flooding, dangerous surf, significant beach erosion and increasingly strong winds remain the biggest concerns as the nor’easter moves closer.

The nor’easter is tracking closer to the coast, and weekend impacts now extend farther inland.

A NEXT Weather Alert remains in effect through Sunday, mainly for the Jersey Shore.

While most of Friday will be dry and cool, winds will pick up into the evening as the nor'easter is expected to intensify as it moves north.

You might notice some haze in the sky across parts of the Philadelphia region at times during the next few days as smoke from Canadian wildfires pushes into the northeastern U.S.

Apart from hazy skies, air quality may begin to decrease. If you're sensitive to air pollution, consider staying indoors when needed. by @katebiloweather

As of Feb. 23, the 2025-26 winter season in Philadelphia has cracked the Top 20 snowiest winters since records began in 1885.

We’re currently sitting at No. 17 with 30 inches of snow since Nov. 1, though we’re still quite a climb away from the 73.1-inch record set in 2009-10. We’ll see where we end up when the season finally comes to an end, hopefully by summer.

It’s been a brutal stretch and a lot of shoveling, so give yourself (and your back) a well-deserved break sometime soon. taken in Philadelphia by @katebiloweather

More than a foot of snow has fallen in parts of the Delaware Valley due to a major winter storm.

Some of the highest totals are in Bucks County where communities like Lower Makefield Township are waking up to more than 20 inches of snow Monday morning.

Head to the link in our bio for a more complete list of snow totals.

The entire Philadelphia region is under a winter storm watch Sunday through Monday due to the threat of heavy snow, with total snow accumulations exceeding 6 inches possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Still, the position of the storm system relative to the coast remains a question. If the low forms close to the coast and throws moisture into our area Sunday night, with surface temps below freezing, significant snow is possible.
