I’m so thrilled to finally share that my second novel, VANISHING POINTS, will be published by @stmartinspress on August 10, 2027! 🎉 📚

VANISHING POINTS is a book about secrets—the secrets we keep, the secrets we uncover, the secrets we hide even from ourselves. So it’s only fitting to confess that I’ve been keeping this announcement a secret for A YEAR AND A HALF!!!

I started writing what became VP months before GREENWICH even sold, and then I sold it before GREENWICH was published. Which means I’ve spent a long, long time writing it, revising it, talking about it vaguely, and trying VERY HARD not to spill too many beans. And now I can!

This book is deeply personal to me. It’s about grief, family, obsession, art, ambition, and the dangerous pull of the past. It follows a young New York art gallerist searching for the brother who disappeared from her life years ago—and her complicated relationship with his ex-girlfriend, an up-and-coming photographer who may know more about what happened to him than she’s letting on.

So many people to thank, but for now I feel like the luckiest person in the world to get to work with my tireless agent @jwongbaxter and to do another book with editor extraordinaire, Claire Cheek. AND THIS COVER!!!!! @olgagrlic does it again, 10/10, the vibes are immaculate.

This summer, I logged over 5,000 miles on the road, visiting dozens of independent bookstores to talk about my debut novel, Greenwich. But what I found was much bigger than book promotion.

I found hope.

In an era of book bans, increasing censorship, and algorithmic feeds, indie bookstores are radical spaces of freedom, curiosity, and care.

I wrote about my road trip in an essay for @literaryhub, and why these essential third spaces might just save us.

GREENWICH is here! Overwhelmed and overjoyed that this book is now out in the world, and there’s no better photo to capture the glow than with my editor @clairemcheek and agent @jwongbaxter. This book challenged me, engaged me, and made me a better writer and a better person for having grappled with its pages. I’m so grateful to everyone who had a hand in bringing it into the world, including the teams at FGLA and St. Martin’s, all the early readers and reviewers, and everyone who read the many drafts along the way. I can’t wait to see this story find its readers. Available now wherever books are sold!

MICHIGAN! I’m so excited to be heading your way next month to talk with the one and only @saramaurerwrites about our debuts. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Sara’s book A GOOD ANIMAL and so has everyone I’ve recommended it to. I’ve been dreaming and scheming about how we can do an event together, and now it’s happening!!

Mark your calendars for Oct 8 at @schulerbooks in Ann Arbor and come with all your burning questions. GREENWICH and A GOOD ANIMAL may seen different on the outside — tony CT family vs a sheep farm in MI — but they both have such a strong commitment to place-as-character, they both draw from and subvert multiple genres (especially romance), and they’re both framed by an adult narrator looking back on a tragedy that defines their late adolescence. Sara and I have the same editor, and I’ve just always found it fascinating and very cool how we wound up linked in this way! I can also promise plenty of candor about the ins and outs of publishing and what it’s like to bring a debut novel out into the world.

GUYS. Please help me solve this PEPPER MYSTERY that’s still ongoing. 😭😭😭

This summer my husband and I were away for several weeks. Two sets of friends stayed at our place. When we came home, we found A MYSTERY PEPPER GRINDER.

It is not ours. I swear we’ve never seen it before. It’s not new. Just ordinary pepper. Which I have plenty of in my kitchen because… it’s pepper.

Texts from both sets of house guests, plus my BFF who I message with daily because we are codependent millennials.

Answers??? Hypotheses???? WHO DOES THIS GRINDER BELONG TO. This is driving me nuts.

This week I got to share the announcement and cover for my new novel, VANISHING POINTS. And you all have been so, so wonderful, I’m still reeling!!

This announcement was long time coming. I started writing this book before GREENWICH sold and sold it before GREENWICH published. It turns out being a writer involves spinning many, many plates and I definitely dropped some but hopefully not all of them!

So, why the long wait?

There are lots of reasons for how people time these announcements, but in my case, much of it came down to.... the title.

As in, I didn’t have one. 🤦‍♀️

I wrote in my Substack about the full, slightly agonizing and kind of hilarious story about how VANISHING POINTS finally got its name, and how relieved I am not to have to tell you about my exciting new novel, UNTITLED. 🤣
