🤦🏼 US orders on pause… again 🤦🏼

Thanks to the Section 338 change (and current suspension of the CUSMA exceptions) it would now cost me $4 per sticker to mail to the states, so they are on hiatus. I got a surprise bill from my courier for close to a hundred bucks for my recently mailed orders, so that was fun 😵‍💫

I don’t even know, man. I’m so sick of this sh*t.

Started off weak, finished unbearably strong. Two weddings, one camping birthday weekend, three friends in a rage room, a thousand mushrooms in the wild, a Carly Rae Jepsen-themed party to ring in 38 years, a fortuitous meeting - September truly had it all and then some, plus the hottest photo I’ve taken of myself in some years (slide one). ❤️👌

Cue Halloween season LFG!!! 💀👻🎃

🎉🎂3️⃣8️⃣🎂🎉

It’s my birthday, and I’m feeling mushy! 37 was a year of high highs and low lows, but the best of it was always the incredible group of friends I’ve collected since moving home 6 years ago. I feel so lucky to know each and every one of ‘em. From weddings to camping to forest festivals to road trips to movie nights to elaborate 5 course bean-based meals to music bingo to slumber parties to an endless supply of hilarious group chats, I couldn’t ask for more ❤️💕

Or, y’know, I thought so. Had a heck of a plot twist two weeks ago, and now I’m wondering if 38 won’t be something really special. 🥰🍄🍄‍🟫💕🍂

Thanks for being here! You all make being here on this crazy spinning rock worth it. ❤️

🍄🍄‍🟫 forest findings 🍄‍🟫🍄

All summer, I’ve felt a bit edged by how few mushrooms I’ve seen. I’ve rarely been able to get out right after a good rain (the best time to see them) and where I live in the city isn’t all that prolific - even our other camping trips have been pretty minimal for sightings. BUT! This past weekend was the last camping trip of the season for me, and good lord did we luck out. 😍

I can’t begin to explain the glee I get when I see a good mushroom in the wild, so imagine walking into a campsite entirely blanketed in thick, spongy moss, with mushrooms growing out of every square foot. Big ones, little ones, fat ones, gummies, clusters and strange solo beasts - dozens of varieties just bursting out of the earth. It was like hitting the jackpot. I spent most of the weekend just wandering through the woods, wide-eyed and giddy with each new type I spotted.

Plus, we found like two full bags worth of chanterelles, which we cooked up in a cast iron pan over a fire. 🥵

Last summer was my first time camping since I was a teenager. Now I’m genuinely sad I have to wait through the winter to go again, even though it was cold as Dante’s hell at night this time. I’ve always considered myself a city boi but some wonderful new friends have converted me. I’m even a hammock camper now!

Anyway, I digress. I love mushrooms. I love the mycelial network of earth. I love knowing I’m wandering through one large, ancient organism. I love the beautiful, magical, weird, unpredictable varieties, and how lucky we are in Nova Scotia to have so much fungal diversity!

🍄🍄‍🟫 mush room to celebrate 🍄‍🟫🍄

While re-ordering cards recently, I realized just how many little pieces of fungi art I’ve done over the years and how few I had printed. With mushroom season in full effect (the humid dog days of summer are a great time to go peepin’ or foragin’) I’ve brought the existing ones back and spiffed up the others on 110lb linen cardstock, little 5x7” cuties 😍 they can be personalized for freefreefree!

All of these were originally done by hand with paint and art pens. AI could never be so charming, in my HUMBLEST of opinions.

Get em where ya get em. Tell a friend. Add ‘em to your @faire_wholesale cart - I’m CUSMA compliant! For now!!! I’ve used so many keywords Instagram will suppress!!!! 🍄🍄‍🟫🌈✨

✨🌈 back at it again! 🌈✨

I have returned from my sojourn with new, restocked and returning goodies - with more to come later this week!! An all-occasion congratulation, a REFLECTIVE kitty cat, as well as this year’s Stationery Store Day-inspired cat and one you might recognize as a reference to my Pride week viral video of @cheech.chihuahua (but, y’know, a cat).

🦌🌳 future forest, pt 1 🌳🦌

I went to the woods for a week with a coven of goth nature witches (@nikibit @christinroper & @april.ave) and came back transformed, as was predicted. I’m a little satyr boy now, henchperson and guard dog to thier royal court. 🐺👑

I’ve never been to a music festival like @futureforestfestival! I was scared and excited - as vendors who came early and stayed late, it was 6 nights of camping, selling, dancing, swimming and adventuring. I got horrible blisters on the second day but we carved up my sandals so I could survive. It was 42 Celsius with the humidity more than once - days and days of heat wave, but we survived by sitting in a river two feet deep. I fell on a rock but I got up. I am coated in grime and bruises, and I’d go again in a heartbeat ❤️🫀❤️

Genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. I cannot wait to shower and pet my cat.
