Happy 11th birthday to our little hipster and definite teenager in the making!
He’s full of ideas and loves to tell you all about them…especially when it’s bedtime.

Sometimes you do something, knowing exactly what you’ll get out of it. And sometimes, you get way more than you bargained for!
This Adult Hip Hop crew has brought me way more than I could have hoped for. New moves, new faces, new friendships, and so so many laughs. It’s also been a real feel-the-fear-and-do-it-anyway when it came to performing in front of a theatre full of people! But there’s no one else I’d rather have done it with. ❤️ THANK YOU Marina Horan for being our OG Queen and bringing out the best in all of us. Love you guys! by @kateofthesmyth

Hyrox Ottawa completed! 🇨🇦
Finish time: 1:37:55 ⏱️
Disappointed not to crack the sub 1:30 mark I was chasing, but I felt strong, left it all out there, and gave it my best. Most importantly, it was so much fun! A couple of stations got the better of me and that’s where I’ll focus my training before the next race in Toronto this October! 💪🏃‍♂️
These races and the training involved have given me a new lease on living my best and healthiest life. I’m so grateful to be able to do this, and for the new friendships and cool experiences this journey is bringing.
Such a huge thanks to my Hyrox and “I’m in” training bestie @nates_006 the FitConn family, and the entire team of Hyrox legends training with the powerhouse that is @lift_by_anniefit in Nanaimo. I literally couldn’t do this without the support of my amazing and smoking hot wife, @kateofthesmyth. 🔥 Thank you! ❤️

A few weeks late, but I still wanted to post! Philippines stops 3, 4 & 5: El Nido Coron and Manila.
El Nido was an absolute favourite for sure, with its own incredible beaches, plus all the island hopping you could ask for. We did private tours, which allowed us to do a combination of Islands from Tours A, C and D, including snorkelling, caves (on foot) caves (by kayak), beach time, swimming and fishing! Plus we did the Island-to-Island zip line from Vanilla Beach, rented scooters (lightly terrifying), and headed out to places like Nacpan beach for the ultimate beach escape.
Once we got to Coron, nature finally forced us to slow down a bit, so we had a chilled out last few days. Sunsets and an infinity pool. Well worth it to cap off our trip!
Manila, we just had an overnight stay, so we headed to BGC High Street (with my Market! Market!) and the Grand Canal (to get out of the sweltering heat!).
All in all, an incredible 2 weeks! by @kateofthesmyth

Back home and adjusting to reality after an incredible family adventure in the Philippines! 🇵🇭
We covered a lot of ground: Panglao, Moalboal, El Nido, Coron & Manila. The goal was to push the kids out of their comfort zone, and between the heat, the busy days, and the “character building” of the unknown that travel provides, those boxes were definitely ticked. ✅
A few highlights:
- Island Hopping: Boat Rides, Dolphins, snorkeling with turtles, and endless tropical fish.
- Adrenaline: Canyoneering, Zip Lining (twice!), kayaking, ATVs, scooters, Trikes (Tuk-Tuks) and more!
- The Vibe: Incredible sunsets, general chaos (driving!) and the friendliest and least stressed people ever.

Philippines stop #2! Moalboal, Cebu. Amazing time canyoneering, including the zip line to start, followed by an epic snorkelling experience with the Sardine Run. I’ve never had so many turtles so close by! ❤️ 🐢 🤿 taken in Moalboal, Cebu by @kateofthesmyth
